WASHINGTON—Saudi Arabia has constructed with Chinese help a facility for extracting uranium yellowcake from uranium ore, an advance in the oil-rich kingdom’s drive to master nuclear technology, according to Western officials with knowledge of the site.

The facility, which hasn’t been publicly disclosed, is in a sparsely populated area in Saudi Arabia’s northwest and has raised concern among U.S. and allied officials that the kingdom’s nascent nuclear program is moving ahead and that Riyadh is keeping open the option of developing nuclear weapons.

Even though Riyadh is still far from that point, the facility’s exposure appears certain to draw concern in the U.S. Congress, where a bipartisan group of lawmakers has expressed alarm about Saudi nuclear energy plans and about Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s 2018 vow that “if Iran developed a nuclear bomb, we will follow suit as soon as possible.”

Saudi Arabia, With China’s Help, Expands Its Nuclear Program

Yellowcake, that stuff will get your country attacked!

The only thing good about this is, hopefully now, the US will stop treating Saudi Arabia like it is not the nasty terrible backward country, that it really is.

The US is goona lose a lot of $$$ from weapon sales. But they have a good amount of oil over there in SA, I have heard.

China and Saudi Arabia do have a lot in common, now that I think about it.

If that's the case it says everything we need to know about our "ally".

They're opportunists, and wahhabism certainly doesn't jive with western liberal societies. I wonder what the only sovereign nation to help with 9/11 would do with some more potent firepower. Hopefully nothing, but it's hard to tell with non secular extremist nations.

What do you mean by something?

I mean the US seems to like Saudi Arabia because of their oil. Or something.

Do you think US policy favors the Saudis because of human trafficking? Is that why Trump didn't say anything about the Kashoggi murder and the involvement of the royal family?

Trump has a lot less power than you seem to think. Even so, he has done more to fight this kind of stuff than any other President has, that I can remember.

Trump has a lot less power than you seem to think.

So, he can't say something? Who's stopping him, exactly? He says a lot of stuff. (Did you hear him struggle with "Yosemite" today?)

Trump seems to have a lot less brainpower than you seem to think.

Geopolitical blah blah blah something about anti semites and oil and human rights while in reference to blah blah wealth and currency

Can the rational humans have a chance, or are they doomed to total censorship for pointing out the actual evil behind the money that created the system that gladly sells children to perverts for cooperation in the quest for more control?

Stop making nukes, idiots.
There are obviously more effective ways to destroy nations- just ask China.

Saudi Arabia is a member of the NPT. If they produce weapons they would be in violation. That would be highly problematic.

Looks like he did.

Trump says he is 'extremely angry' about Khashoggi

President clarified that he did mention Khashoggi's murder in his meeting with the prince but said he would "not comment" on intelligence when pressed about the CIA's assessment about the prince's involvement.
"I did mention it to him very strongly," Trump said when asked about raising the brutal murder. "That was a bad event."

Sure he did. I believe everything Trump says. Don't you?

But when another reporter followed up, the US President clarified that he did mention Khashoggi's murder in his meeting with the prince but said he would "not comment" on intelligence when pressed about the CIA's assessment about the prince's involvement.

But you just said he didn't.

Saudi Arabia will be paying for a second opinion.

They already have that capability.

BS

Donald Trump vetos bill to end u s. support of war in Yemen.

Or how about that weapons deal he gave saudi Arabia.

Im sick of people acting like trump has been some mesiah for the middle east. He has not.

He praises the saudis, increases drone strikes, pulls out of an iran deal, indefinite stay in Afghanistan, still occupation in iraq, and moving the embassy in israel to trigger more Palestinian/israel divide.

Trump is just another puppet of ths military industrial complex. Have fun drinking that qanon kool aid though.

War and occupation means peace!!
