I don't have to agree to anything.

So you can't even agree to disagree, by disagreeing?

Old man, have a nice cuppa.

People in Wyoming literally get pulled by their mask if they
walk in the right direction. Stretched out a foot in front their face.
Look like a parachute!

Haha - so THAT'S WHY Trump said there was a drop in reported Florida cases. Because testing stations were closed.

That's good to know, but I have access to a data modeling program that shows dire consequences for opening up schools during a pandemic, and that I can directly blame Trump for when it happens.

Except it has been proven that kids are virtually immune to it, and are very unlikely to spread it at all, let alone be 'super spreaders' as the fear-mongers would have us believe.

Let's not forget that all of you conservatives aren't immune to COVID and that it is hitting rural areas now. So you guys are shooting yourselves in the foot by being reckless.

Us healthy ones are immune, or at least won't get more than a sniffle, or at worst, a bout of of something 'like the flu'...

Florida has had Rt value under 1.0 since June 30th the longest time it's been under 1.0 since May when shelter in place ended.

In fact we have 20 states under 1.0 most in a couple of months if not longer. For perspective, most infectious diseases maintain a 3.0 or higher infectious rate, COVID 19 hasn't been that infectious since early March. We were warned it would be as high as 5.7 but that never materialized here in the US but that was the expectation. Right now Hawaii has the highest Tr at 1.33.

Hepatitis C 2.0
Ebola 2.0
HIV 4.0
SARS 4.0
MUMPS 10.0
MEASLES 18.0

Rt, a key measure of how fast the virus is growing. It’s the average number of people who become infected by an infectious person. If Rt is above 1.0, the virus will spread quickly. When Rt is below 1.0, the virus will stop spreading

Instagram founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger have teamed up to launch their first product together since leaving the Facebook mothership. Rt.live is an up-to-date tracker of how fast COVID-19 is spreading in each state.

“Rt” measures the average number of people who become infected by an infectious person. The higher above the number 1, the faster COVID-19 races through a population, while a number below one shows the virus receding.

rt.live...

Hawaii has the highest COVID-19 reproduction rate, while Vermont has the lowest, according to rt.live.

Rt.live is a website that calculates the rate at which the virus is spreading. Measured by the average number of people who become sick from an infectious person, the site tracks the effective reproduction rate (Rt) of COVID-19 infections. If the value is less than one, the spread of the disease is slowing. The higher the Rt number, the worse the spread.

Editor's note: This list contains ties and is based on data last updated Aug. 4.

Yes. It's looking worse and worse here.

The confirmed cases were out of 1,814 tests conducted, meaning the positivity rate was 7.9%.

The state said the vast majority of new cases in the islands are the result of community spread. Examples of recent clusters include:

71 cases linked to a series of funeral events
Six cases linked to a hot yoga class
12 cases associated with a birthday party

www.hawaiinewsnow.com...

That's why we can't have nice things. Another shutdown is pretty much guaranteed. 173 new cases today.

Florida should've been #1 hotspot since a few months ago, considering the amount of elderly there, and the nonstop flow of tourism and vacationers and people running away from New York and other hot spots.

I wonder why it hasn't been so far?

Florida should've been #1 hotspot

Florida reported its highest number of new Covid-19 cases in one day -- 15,300 on Saturday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

That's a new record for the most new cases in a single day from any state -- including New York state earlier in the pandemic.

So on July 13th it had its highest peak.
Kind of irrelevant, no?

Besides, infection rate doesn't mean much. It's mortality we need to look at.

I think the highest daily number of infections is a good criterion for "hotspot."
