Fair question.

I guess because I got sick of all of the various sources and various people calling it by various names to suit their own purposes and biases.

And, it's all anyone has been talking about since 2020 began, so I believe we ought to at least be able to agree on what it's called, in my opinion.

I hoped it might be one small way to get everyone on the same page with respect to at least *one* aspect of this mess.

And finally, the whole virus/lockdown/mask-wearing or not wearing/tank the economy/what's new with COVID-19.218/ "thing" disgusts me in a grinding, wearying, sort of way.
