Where is ATS and Why Above Top Secret is dying

When a forum, noted for its intelligent debate and the intelligence of the members so debating becomes cowardly, unable to stand controversy,
unable to stand views not held by certain 'elite members' who rule as a cabal - It is at that time that the forum should be considered dead by those
of US who still live and think - where is tha ATS I used to post on

What happened to the intelligent, sometimes heated debates , that used to make this forum exciting and interesting???

Back then moderators would sometimes step in and tell people to 'cool it' as the debates used to get quite heated at times.

No more! - Now they just make the debate go away by killing the post - making it disappearr like a Russian dissenter in Stalinist Russia.

And they rarely tell you why! - Like political disent in Communist countries they work to make it disappear.

Where are you ATS Will you rise like a mythical Phoenix and give us back the forum we used to love ???

Yo Man , The World is Presently going to Hell in a Hand Basket , and the Stress of that on Every Human on this Planet is becoming Unbearable Right Now . There are More Pressing Matters to Discuss here on ATS other than quibbling about a Display of " Poor Decorum , Don"t you Think > ?

Debates on things like Evolution vs. Creationism are sitll interesting.

But politicaly what was once a right wing slant has truneed into 'The left is insane and evil and should not be heard'.

An almost Alex Jones hatred of any and all left wing ideologies - Maybe the left has much wrong with it, I agree.

But once you think killing the debate will guarantee victory, like old Commusnists from the past
- We see this does not work - The opposition begins to thrive on it .

Political process in a democratic republic requires endless and continuous open debates to survive.

ATS requires open and continuous live debates, not censorship, to survive.

ATS is dying because it was taken over by politics. Trump supporters seem to have a monopoly here, (Just look at the top threads, Mostly right wing crap. Same posters spamming the same garbage day in and day out.

According to my inbox...yes...but you're also the only mod that's given me applause either so...that.

Started its downward spiral the second the mud pit was put on here. It attracted a different mindset of just wanting to...well, sling mud.
it sort of painted the site as just another stormfront
and the advertisers ran away, along with any decent interviewee that didn't want to be linked to what was rapidly becoming a political s--tshow.
And so now ATS is legit trying to sell off before it completely goes 404

Sad days, but it was a good run. Lotta good threads back in the day, and a lot of great minds back then...some stuck around (like me and my big brain of course)

Don’t hate the players. Hate the game. The playing field has changed. Nostalgia, does not changed the game.

It used to be that sometimes someone had something interesting to say.
Now everybody has something to say all the time
Very important stuff ofcourse, nobody wants to be boring
The world needs to listen and take notice

ATS is not dying, its just spreading out across the rest of the internet.
Quality taking a backseat to quantity

The Mud Pit is one forum.
When seen, as it usually is, outside mud is removed.

I can see your dilema - But some of us enjoy debate - And heated debates can sometimes be intersting.
- As ATS used to be much more interesting.

IN maybe 10 political threads I've started since 2016 - Almost all that were pro Trump, not only received much positive
comments - but lasted quite awhile.

BUT I AM POLITICALLY INDEPENDENT - And believe both sides of isssues should be seen.

The few anti Trump posts I started even if popular, and always attracting pro Trump suppoters, who are more than capable
in debating.

And yet everyone of those posts 'disappeared' - This is unfair to not ony me who is expressing an AlienView,
but to the Trumjp supporters who actually should have the chance to defend their candidate.

We all understand that ATS was always aligned to the right - But not giving the opposition a fair chance turns a good forum
into a politcal advertisement. IMHO a forum should be more than that.

If ATS is to stay interesting it needs to keep the debate alive - let the bad guys speak every once in awhile

Without intending to sling mud outside the pit, that is a perfect example of intolerance from the "tolerant" left mindset.

It goes both ways, I've seen quite a few on the left here that won't accept facts when presented with multiple sources and resort to constant name-calling because they have nothing else, so intellectual honesty and integrity has also taken a back seat for many here.

I've been a lurker and then a member for a long time. Mostly lurking, usually coming and going in spurts and I can tell you that ATS hasn't been the same for 8-10 years, ever since certain threads about a certain person and his or her possible identity were taken down. These things have been going on for quite a few years here and it's absurd to act like it's all because of right wingers or Trump supporters. It started before that. In fact it started during Obama's presidency and you don't see anyone blaming him or his supporters. Having said that, this is still the best site on the internet.

It's the only site I know that I can go and find the truth and evidence to back it up regardless of if it's something I agree with or not. People here do the dirty work. The type of research and presenting of info that you can't find on the FB, Twitter, and definitely not the mainstream news. Are there as many people doing as much dirty work as before, no. But it's still the best we got.

As far as most of the top threads being right wing or pro Trump. That's the nature of the beast on a conspiracy site. Right now, the narrative coming from the news and socials is pro left, bash Trump, which means the topics here will be the opposite. "Conspiracy" sites look at things that are the opposite of the official narrative. If the media and social networks were all drooling over Trump, the topics would be going the other way trying to weed through the bs.

Look at CV19. Right now we are being told this thing is awful and we need to shut down the world and give up our life as we knew it. Yet, some people are looking at the numbers and evidence and questioning the narrative so they post about it. If we were being told that it was nothing to worry about but people were dropping dead by the millions, the posts here would be the opposite, they would be questioning the fact they everyone is dying and we were being told it's nothing. That's how a site like this works.

ATS is still the best place and one of the last places you can go to find info and evidence that isn't what we are being force fed. Complaining it's not the same just because you don't like the topics only contributes to it getting worse.

The politics is a relevant current topic
Possibly with more conspiracy fodder than anything else today
