Since the riots/peaceful protests have been happening, we hear that no spike in corona virus cases follows those events. We just heard Dr. Fauchi avoid saying protests should be curtailed. In light of that, we should be able to use that valuable data to see that opening schools will be a safe and prudent thing to do.

It can’t be both ways. If protesting next to thousands of others screaming, spitting, and flailing about is safe to do, then sending kids to school should not be a problem at all. If sending kids to school IS an issue, then why aren’t we clamping down on these protests?

I’d like to hear why anyone would be against schools opening up.

School activities are more like Trump's rallies, which have been proven to be super spreader events, than the protests, which haven't as yet been proven to be super spreader event.

We should treat school opening the same way we treat the coordination of Trump rallies, RNC conventions.

I am for kids going back to school.

Noticed this yesterday though.

Hundreds of Georgia campers infected with coronavirus at YMCA camp in just days, CDC report finds

In total, the virus attacked 44% of the children, staff members and trainees who attended the camp.

The CDC said that what happened at High Harbor shows that earlier thinking that children might not be as susceptible to COVID-19 is wrong. According to the report, the age group with the most positive coronavirus tests was 6 - 10 years old.

Under Gov. Kemp’s executive orders, overnight summer camps in Georgia were allowed to open on May 31. All campers and staff members had to test negative for the coronavirus before attending

As this shows kids are going to be in groups anyway. Parents are going back to work and taking them to daycare or sending them to places like camps.

Just to note that the answer seems to vary greatly from one location to another.. Where I live, the school board took a survey and 70% of respondent parents said their kids would not be returning to schools in the fall.

The spike in cases are without a doubt because of the protests.

But....

Because adults decide what they do and they also decide what their kids do.

Adults take risks they don’t want their children to

Adults can be trusted to cross a dangerous intersection, children cannot.

Adults decide what they want their kids exposed to

Adults decide what they expose themselves to.

The same way a child doesn’t have the mind capacity to decide he or she want to become a he or she, it’s by that same logic that adults have the mind capacity to understand the risks of protesting during a pandemic and what’s at stake vs children who have no reason for the risks.

I think school should reopen but not because of the protest/riot argument.

But let’s convolute this more.

I can't wait till we can compare 2019-2020 deaths to other years. I think the numbers may show overall deaths dropped during this virus.

Unless they fix the numbers, of course.

I'm all for opening the schools up for kids AND rioters. I may actually get my money's worth at that point.

The right to protest against government tyranny is in the Constitution. The government's right to force children to attend an unsafe public school during a national health emergency is not.

Id like to hear the difference between a Trump rally and a protest. Could you break that down for us and show us how they differ?

155k Deaths from a pandemic...
Yeah, thats kind of a joke.

Especially when you consider that the death rate of the country hasn’t increased.

But the right to worship is OK to remove? Which rights are more equal?

they aren't "rioters", they are peaceful protesters. Throwing a few rocks and "things" is just blowing off a little steam. It's what kids do.

LOL Just the obvious starters.

Rallies are held inside, where people are sitting or standing very close to one another for long periods of time.
Protests are held outside, and people have the ability to move around and potentially keep social distances.

Also, most of the protesters wore masks, whereas most attendees of Trump's rallies do not.

Getting the kids back in school serves two purposes:

Getting education workers and their facilities/administrators/unions money, as teachers can't file unemployment.

Spreading the virus like crazy so the election can be fully decided by the leftist/socialist agenda, due to mail in votes as well as some form of electronic voting. - All of which will be fully manipulated to their desired outcome.

Oh, I'll be rioting and looting if I get in there. I want some of my property tax money and I'm eyeballing a new leather teacher's chair and some erasers.

I no longer care if most people get sick or even if they die. My family and I are able to wait this out for the most part. That's all that should matter to me.

I don't know why I've spent since January trying to get people to a wear a mask. I don't even like people.
