but he won't opine on whether protests are a vector for transmission.

Incorrect. He has been quite clear on the matter. From June, for example:

“Every time I hear about or see the congregation of large crowds at a time and geographic area where there is active infection transmission, it is a perfect set-up for the spread of the virus in the sense of creating these blips that might turn into some surges,” Fauci said, adding that concerns about the virus and the constitutional right to protest represent a tricky balance to get right. “So I get very concerned.”

Fauci goes on to add: “There certainly is a risk, I would say that with confidence, when you see the congregation of crowds, particularly in a situation where you have a lot of confusion and a little bit of chaos, people running back and forth, taking their masks off, being close in proximity. That does pose a risk.”

I first looked into Anthony Fauci is the following thread,

Dr. Anthony Fauci's ex-employee, was jailed, finally tells all.

After digging through that, the impression that I got of Anthony is that he is a smart man, held a powerful and insightful position overseeing a lot of medical studies going on. In terms of ethics he tends to favour big business and taking care of Big Pharma's health. Have been some problems in correctly sharing credit.

The treatment that Judy Mikovit got screams cover up and a failure to acknowledge some issues. The financial implications just too tough for him and others to manage. He has been in the one position at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for a long time and has a lot of connections among the drug and health industry.

When did Mikovits work for Fauci?

In vitro. In monkey cell cultures.
Chloroquine, not hydroxychloroquine.
Not SARS-CoV-2.

There are actual clinical tests underway.

No no, silly. You're not supposed to actually read the link or do any follow up. You're just supposed to react to the clickbait title and flail your arms incessantly like everyone else around here.

As research director of CFS research organization Whittemore Peterson Institute (WPI) from 2006 to 2011, Mikovits led an effort that reported in 2009 that a retrovirus known as xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus (XMRV) was associated with CFS and may have had a causal role. However, following widespread criticism,[6] the paper was retracted on December 22, 2011, by the journal Science.[8][17] In November 2011, she was arrested and held on charges that she stole laboratory notebooks and a computer from WPI, but she was released after five days and the charges were later dropped.

Wikipedia

Where things go off the rails is in the subsequent gag order issued by the court as investigations continued. It was only in the last year or two (approx) that this gag order was lifted and she able to publish the book "Plague of Corruption". I take it that all the material in this book has been vetted by the courts.

It does not make much sense to publish fake news after been gagged up for so long, Expect the courts would of hit her again by now if it was fake. Now it is just the thought police trying bashing her.

So, when was she Fauci's employee?
What does Fauci have to do with her at all?

AH Jordan is demanding a political answer from Fauci, and Fauci is specifically refusing to give a political answer.

Fauci says crowds are dangerous, Jordan asks him about protests, Fauci says crowds are dangerous, Jordan say what about churches, Fauci says crowds are dangerous, Jordan asks about lots of stuff that Fauci doesn't have anything to do with, and crowds are dangerous.

Fauci says crowds are dangerous. That is the advice he is paid to do. He is not giving a political answer, he is giving advice from a health professional point of view.

POLITICIANS are paid to make decisions about how to deal with that advice.

Jordan is trying to brow beat Fauci into making a declaration that is beyond his brief so he can beat him over the head with it. Jordan is grandstanding, trying to turn Fauci's testamony into an excuse for his (Jordan's) f-wittery.

Fauce performed exceedingly well and handed Jordan his hat.

He seems fine commenting on other gatherings.

Why would he not comment on protests?

When Judy first started she was working under Frank Ruscetti, he done some good work on AIDS and interferon. Frank worked with and under Anthony over the years. Anthony wanted to see what Frank was working on while he was on holidays. With Judy being Frank's assistant, Anthony approached her for the information. Without Franks approval, she said no. Anthony threw a hissy fit and the conflict just got worst over the years.

Frank down well in calming the tempers between those two for the most part. It was Judy's work on XRMV's that kicked off the next round of conflict and lead to Judy having a gag order on the topic for the next 7 or 8 years.

So the title of that thread is a lie and it has nothing to do with Fauci. Thanks for the clarification.

Judy disagrees with that. Anthony was the point man in funding and directing a lot of scientific study. Anyway, if you are interested in one lead that is critical of Anthony it is a start.

They are all employees of the National Institutes of Health.

Anthony took the lead at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases

Judy worked with Frank, both under Anthony. They all had a professional working relationship on lots of complex scientific stuff.

I don't know what to make of the XMRV issue, out of my league. Lot of controversy remaining.

Dr. Fauci is a member of the group of evil people who wanted Covid-19 to take hold in this country and cause a lot of damage, in order to decrease President Trump's re-election chances. (Lots of threads on this)

He can't be OFFICIALLY exposed and removed until after the Covid-19 vaccine distributed later this year.

This is way bigger than Trump.

They want to both move to fully digital currency and create an economy where only the biggest corporations survive all the insane red tape coming down the pike...

So questions on the reasoning behind protestors being given a pass and church growers and businesses being prosecuted or fined should be directed to State Governors not Fauci.

It seems that the top medical official doesn’t doesn't differentiate between gatherings.

Interesting.

The NIH does not set policy. Federal, state, or local.
Fauci was invited to be on the president's task force to act in an advisory role. Again, not to set policy.

Good catch. It was Whittemore Peterson Institute that paid Judy's checks. They still had to interact with Anthony as head of the NIAID.

Similar level of lies as HCQ. Gives a good perspective to some of the culture, motivations and pressure within the medical research community and its management. If you prefer books, "Plague of Corruption" for the details.

The research into why mouse DNA is turning up in the blood supply quickly got put back into the too hard basket. Hence Judy's gag order. This is a part of what XMRV's are about. Links back to vaccinations. Cannot let the public know about that, will impact sales. The genie is out of the bottle and just too expensive to do anything about it anyway is the justification I see for the cover up and smear attacks.

The CDC is currently unable to publicly state any association between vaccinations and autism despite all the data. All tied up in a big legal mess. The work of XMRV's was looking at causes of chronic fatigue. The medical systems with its checks and balances is just not ready to add chronic fatigue to the list of side effects in the vaccination court.
