Shame we can't see them throwing down like in other governments, I'd love to see a session of congress come to blows on the floor. Same for the senate for that matter, let's watch a bunch of old folks throw down, would be hilarious.

Looking at this.

RULES OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

RULE XVII
DECORUM AND DEBATE
www.govinfo.gov...

Members should refrain from using profanity or vulgarity in debate

It doesn't say that they can't. Only that they should refrain. In the context of the conversation the profanity was relevant and only a quote.

So another how dare she.

Reeeeeeeeeee!!

What do you think the meaning of refrain is ?

Denying ignorance.
Why ?
Very simple this time around.

I wouldn't want to see it get to that level, let's leave it to some other countries that are used to that. The situation is bad as it is, besides imagine the psychological effect it'd have on the country as a whole. Appearances matter regardless of the reality.

That says should refrain from vulgarity in debate.

Not that it's not allowed to be used.

Harry Reid (of take all the money I can get AATIP fame) was once near censured for something similar .
Never made that mistake again.
So , what does that say for AOC ?
And you ?

Was Harry Reid quoting another member of the house that was behaving in a manner unbecoming of a house member?

Probably not. She was quoting another member that should not have said that to her. If you have a problem with it then you should go complain to Yoho.

AOC Drops F-Bomb On House Floor After Refusing To Accept Apology Over Insult

www.zerohedge.com...

For those who have not been paying attention to this dramafest, it began on Monday when Republican congressman Ted Yoho reportedly called Democratic congresswowman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) "disgusting" and "out of her freaking mind" after she asserted that the riots and looting across America was because of poverty and unemployment:

Video here:

mobile.twitter.com...

Now, I'm no fan of AOC or her politics and her full stressed pronunciation of the F-word doesn't sit well with my image of Congress woman, but I think the Congressman Yoho went overboard and needs to apologize for using foul degrading language towards a woman. Besides, why give the non-patriotic leftists fodder for their manipulations?! They'll use it ad-nauseam.

STOP! Just stop all of you defending this so called US House Rep. she has done NOTHING more than to make her position into one of hatred, tantrums, calling for violence, using foul language and it goes on and on. I’ve never in my life heard anything like this from a House rep. I’ve heard just about everything too. She is the ring leader of her own FIRST EVER “gang” capped “the squad”. She is a admitted Marxist. A communist that hides behind socialism as if that’s better or acceptable. Then calls it democratic socialism as if this is better. She is playing on people’s non existent education. We are and have never been a democracy.
She outwardly told people to stop OTHER CONGRESSMEN IN PUBLIC AND TO GET IN THEIR FACES AND TO CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR THEM IN PUBLIC USING THESE TACTICS. She is a BARTENDER. She was elected however by a populace that obviously has lacked the education spoken of. The last two generations all have lacked this. She is a child. She is vile. She is petty. SHE AND THE “squad” though are what we get and is just a reflection of what we are as a society today. She cannot be blamed for this as it is our own fault for allowing this to happen.
All of you protecting her should be ashamed and if not then you have to be protecting her right as a Marxist. For that I cannot forgive or “just accept” as its not even possible for the Country to be “Communist” or “Socialist” (other than as a hidden ideology) by design. We can only be a Constitutional Republic. We can then be everything in between those lines. Any lines outside of this are only what they are. Coup attempts to change the Govt. Thats it. It’s that simple and made this way by much, much more intelligent people than all of us. The architects of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and bill of rights. Yes, the Declaration was just that, a diagram of how to separate and it maps it out plainly showing it can only be done by changing and throwing off the entirety of the old Govt. So in it is your answers. There is no other interpretation. She is, what she is and no more and no less. A representative of “OUR TIMES” she is not however a “representative of the United States of America and it’s Constitution. It provides all kinds of freedoms SHORT of becoming communist etc... to do this the map again is clear and provided. Full on dismantling and take over. Go for it. See how that works out for you and she and the “protesters” who burned the person alive in there own pace of biz and just go on with your life and pretend this isn’t occurring. That a family can be brought to charges for standing on there property and pointing a weapon at people who broke into and into there property for ANY REASON. I can go on, but it’s not necessary. This is the way it is.

Good for Yoho and NO, don't apologize.

Never ever apologize to progs.

And that's how we drag ourselves into idiocracy by allowing partisanship to excuse petty behavior b congress or even potus. Like how trump told her to go home.

Neither of them are looking good here... I wonder if the Congressman would have the balls to accost a fellow Congressman in the same way? Actually, no, I don't wonder at all.

However, seems to me that while the Congresswoman may be a "bitch," and even an F-bomb "bitch," she has shown she isn't HIS bitch!

What a tattle tail. The incident happened outside Congress, it’s not an issue that needs to be resolved within Congress. Why does she feel being a senator she’s somehow above being called a #ing bitch on the street? I really don’t care if it happened, in fact I hope it did. She clearly lost her mind over this and decided to do what she does best, Claim victim status and point fingers at the bad man for being a man. Spin it all you want, her outrage over it doesn’t make her a bigger person here...

Why is she being so selfish to discuss her petty squabble in session and ignore the unemployment bill that’s going unresolved leaving millions of brown and black bodies without money to feed their children? They will end up murdering eachother over loafs of bread by her own admission and yet the issue at hand is she was called a hurtful name!!

Exactly my points! Unfortunately it goes to show the level that some members have fallen to and the normalization of such behaviour in the state institutions.

Good point, she could have resolved this incident in private. All this is a distraction from the main issue -- the state assistance to the needy, which should be a priority to everybody.

Her goal is to throw hatred at republicans, that’s why she chose a public forum to resolve what very much so should have been a personal issue, not americas issue. She used the Congress foot, a moment when our hard paid tax dollars are being used to allow her to speak to our representatives, and she wastes the moment, our TAX DOLLARS on, he called me a bad name??

Seriously folks, look at what you are defending. She really cares about your problems, and standing up to authority... a reply to: miri2019
