It is illegal to abduct people without probable cause and/or a warrant
and without disclosing who you are
and without reading them their rights.

It is illegal.

Am I a lawyer? No, but these people are

Legal scholars questioned whether the detentions pass constitutional muster.

“Arrests require probable cause that a federal crime had been committed, that is, specific information indicating that the person likely committed a federal offense, or a fair probability that the person committed a federal offense,” Orin Kerr, a professor at University of California at Berkeley Law School, told The Post. “If the agents are grabbing people because they may have been involved in protests, that’s not probable cause.”

It happened in North Dakota and it isn't a stop and ID state.

North Dakota N.D. Cent. Code §29-29-21
29-29-21. Temporary questioning of persons in public places - Search for weapons. A peace officer may stop any person abroad in a public place whom the officer reasonably suspects is committing, has committed, or is about to commit:
1. Any felony.
2. A misdemeanor relating to the possession of a concealed or dangerous weapon or weapons.
3. Burglary or unlawful entry.
4. A violation of any provision relating to possession of marijuana or of narcotic, hallucinogenic, depressant, or stimulant drugs. The peace officer may demand of such person the person's name, address, and an explanation of the person's actions.
When a peace officer has stopped a person for questioning pursuant to this section and reasonably suspects that the officer is in danger of life or limb, the officer may search such person for a dangerous weapon. If the peace officer finds such a weapon or any other thing, the possession of which may constitute a crime, the officer may take and keep it until the completion of the questioning, at which time the officer shall either return it, if lawfully possessed, or arrest such person.
Requires reasonable suspicion.

The corporations are openly funding BLM. Do you need me to pull some links of them proudly admitting this.
You have a very ignorant overview of the situation.
They backed off as to not fight with them.
Maybe you should stick to fishing, alcoholism, mosquitoes, suicide prevention and trying to import some women?
Getting a boner trolling randos on the internet to gain some self esteem or power back tells me you are probably too unstable to even be raising children, Alaskadad

So cops choking folks to death is alright with you, lets hope your next!

Oh my someone is getting triggered, are you woke yet.

Lol but you are a funny guy or gal.

Nothing like ATS trying gang raping a liberal, is there!

Who is this legal scholar in the article or is that their actual name?

Stop and ID by state

What you quoted has nothing to do with stop & ID. It states very clearly that it is about searching a person, that's it. Identification isn't mentioned. The link does have a list, thanks for including that, but in North Dakota requiring identification is not on that list.

Nice job ignoring the information on another thread that said the one guy was a suspect in attacking officers or the federal building, I forget which right now. That alone makes it legal for them to detain someone. He was read his rights when he was in the holding cell, a much safer place for everyone than the riot areas.

If you guys think people are being whisked away for no reason you're delusional. Cops, state or fed, have much more important things to do than what you guys are suggesting, without facts by the way.

For those that hate BLM, I have a gripe with them too. BLM is a government agency and they (the protestors) have no right to that acronym. On the other hand they have every right to protest a broken system of law enforcement that we have in the US!

Since this is from ATS I will not use ex:

Right, how do you know they didn't have probable cause on these "abductees"? All they would have needed was to observe an illegal act, like being part of a declared riot that was ordered to disperse.

I am. If the police could conduct business safely then they wouldnt need to grab and go. Im not a cop lover at all. But that is wholly justified. Quit attacking them and it wouldnt be necessary.

First, the Feds did not retreat from the umbrella warriors. They are not scared. By a long shot. The issue is that those attacking them WANT to be either beat or shot. Then, the narrative is Trumps Stormtroopers killing peaceful protesters. No reason to continue to engage but it sounds nice. I wish you would post the vidoe of ONE Fed basically taking on the whole group and them scattering like roaches.

Second, it is not illegal for those officers as they are to taking someone into custody. No one is kidnapped. They are not taken to a blacksite in the woods. Those Antifa boys should be careful because anyone back out on the street is a snitch.

I cannot wait for Chicago!!!

"Storm Troopers" is a kinda silly term. What you think of them as , or how they think of themselves as? Is irrelevant.
I don't really understand the need for LEO to be all decked out in "tacticool" either. It has always reminded me of the NAZI SS of socialist Germany, Starting out as state "police" then circumventing the Army, next thing you know? "They" are some of the most feared "Military Divisions" on a battlefield. There's no reason for cops, regardless of jurisdiction, to be "tacticcool". None.
They're "federal law enforcement", basically "police" for Federal jurisdictions, hence "federal courthouse" in a sovereign state that owes its alegence to the "federal laws" of the republic.

That being said. "Retreat" is also really silly and an ignorant understanding of "ROE" and the "legal" term of "jurisdiction" (legal authority).

They used remarkable restraint. That's how I'd word it.

Trump sends in the feds as Portland Mayor and Oregon's Governor say they are not wanted, Now protestors are kettling the fed strorm troopers back into the federal building they're supposed to be protecting. A poorly planned and not thought out, this Federal presence has endangered both the protestors and the storm troopers that were sent there.

Do you live in Portland? I think not...lol

They been rioting for 54 days now, not peaceful protesting...geez

I'm sure CHAZ was a summer of love too to you....lol
