The 2nd doesn't say only a well regulated militia can bare arms, it says that it's necessary. Well regulated means one properly equipped. Using current terminology the 2nd would read a well equipped citizenry is necessary to ensure freedom, so the right to bare arms shall not be infringed.

This is exactly what it says

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

To say its clear what the scope is without any room for debate is disingenuous considering its been back and forth in court and in legal debates for a hundred years now
Cornell link

Regulated could be discussing the training of the militia, or the guns, or what constitutes the militia, etc. Also, there is no clause for "any" arms...arguably playing devils advocate, the case could be made that the arms they will not infringe is a single shot pistol...or alternatively we should all be able to have nuclear weapons. What is the imaginary line?

Joe Biden should lead by example and disarm all of his security and secret service.

Unless he is some kind of hypocrite.

I'd take you seriously if you weren't so ridiculous.

that's fine! but aren't gun nuts a little ridiculous too?

as a guy who has guns, I think you might be a little ridiculous. So I'd guess it's all about perspective. But then, since you are in Germany, I'd say you are safe from us crazy Americans.

It seems I remember This Twain guy saying something about Travel........

The SC has made multiple rulings. It's very clear what it says. Hamilton also describes what it means. Part of it's function is a defense against the tyranny of a standing army loyal to the government not the people.

Two things:

1. It's not called the Bill of Needs, it's called the Bill of Rights. Also, many of the cannons used by the Continental Army were privately owned.

2. During a conversation that took place while Obama was president, Biden said the correct response to someone trying to break into your house was to fire a shotgun through the door.

Okay, three things:

3. SaturnFX, note what OccamsRazor04 said. You wanted lawyers' opinions parsing the Second Amendment, the SC obliged you several years ago.

#ing liberal fascist communists!

Spot on.

My ancestors risked their lives killing commies and their beta socialist buddies for decades overseas only to have those godless monsters wash up here (temporarily, of course)

Yes, and it includes Biden and his own words in his own interview. I just would hate for folks to forget what his core values are. He says them with conviction, so I have to assume he means it.

At the end of the day, does it matter?

The president doesn't really have that much power when it comes to gun control.

Trump said that he supported gun confiscation, too. Remember that?

by Gun Nuts i'm guessing that you are referring to the idiots that take firearms and go out to shoot people for the hell of it.
Not the gun owners that have many firearms and don't use them for that purpose.

I do remember that. But I am not new to who and what Trump is. he throws things out, and some of them are kind of dumb. If you want to make a case for him saying stupid things, you won't have much trouble. But if you look at his actions, that's what I would base his performance on. But then, I don't hate him, I just remember who he has always been. he's remarkably consistent.

Eh, I dunno. I think Biden, right now, is entirely running on what he’s been told to say. Honestly, at this point I have no concerns about people coming for my guns. I think the gun control thing is just another talking point for Democrats because the actual effort of enforcing it and/or removing guns from people will simply not be a war worth fighting.

You might see a little brush fire here and there, but I really don’t think it’ll get bigger than that.

but if it's just ignored, someone will try to set an example. Which is why it's so important not to let anything slip past. If they could take them, it would be done faster than the wind blows.

OH and a war it would be.

Any further infringement on the second amendment is a red line for millions and millions of armed patriots. And unlike the anti-Trump forces, we aren't stupid enough to put our tactical communications and operational planning on platforms "they" control.

We are also generally skilled in the use of crytographic tools, circular communication, offline communication, symbolism and a handful of other unique operational characteristics that makes a potential pro-liberty insurgency a particular nightmare for anti-constitutional forces

Well, that’s what I was referring to with the brush fire comment. It’ll pop up here and there but I believe ultimately it’s not going to go anywhere. It’s logically impossible to get all the guns. Granted, our government isn’t exactly known for exerting a whole lot of brain power.

Biden would be less succesful in taking guns than Trump has been in getting Mexico to pay for a wall.

It sounds nice when you say it, but I'd rather not find out. I'll stick with the obnoxious orange guy. We can see if he can do some work on jobs and bring manufacturing back to the US. At least we have a track record with Trump, Biden seems to be really good at making his family $ and being Barack's BFF. (they made bracelets, I think Joe has the other half of Barry's Mizpah)

And to think Trump did all his did with most of DC against him, and actively trying to harm his work. I wonder what he might be able to do unimpeded?
