If I dont wear a mask walking down the street I get fined 100 euro.

Things are getting weird.

Like NYC, most beds are in use for recovering patients, and often can be relocated to alternative venues for more needy patients. Like they did in New York, when there was suppose to be need. And the navy medical ship they brought had only a handful of beds in use... this isn’t the dooms day situation you are claiming it could be.

What do you think we should do? I've cut my hours (essential retail store-level management) down to 20 hours and gave up my benefits so that I can be home more and less exposed to the public who won't take this seriously. I don't understand what is so hard about putting on a mask for 5 minutes to get your garden hose or bug spray.

I don't know what state you're in, but relatively few people are becoming sick enough for hospitalization due to Covid-19.

It's not worth becoming overly concerned about.

Even when Chicago was a hotspot, the retail workers and cashiers were not getting sick... and weren't wearing masks. Yet they came in contact with hundreds of people per day. I had a good time talking with them about the hysteria aspects of the virus.

Look at the statistics for your state at: www.worldometers.info... and adjust accordingly.

I have yet to see a study of masks working, or not working, to prevent Covid-19 spread. All the media, and their on-the-air medical guests says they do, but they never cite a study.

Our government (CDC) said for years that non-N95 masks do not stop viruses, because the viruses are too small. But for some reason, they changed their mind 4 months ago.

Logically, surgical masks prevent the spread of viruses. For that reason amongst others ; they are worn in hospitals by surgeons.

Of course they work as a barrier during interactions but I hate being told it is now illegal not to waer one.

Most hospitals only tend to have a single ward for ITU/ICU and a HDU ward, usually 2 nurses per bed depending on needs of the patient.

The National News states that Texas, Arizona, Florida, and California hospitals are reaching maximum capacity, due to so many Covid-19 patients.

But when you look at: www.cdc.gov... you see:

TEXAS - Covid-19 patients are just 16.8% of the inpatient population.
ARIZONA = 25.2%
FLORIDA = 16.7%
CALIFORNIA = 11%


Those percentages equate to the following numbers, according to: covidtracking.com...

TEXAS = 10,457 Covid-19 inpatients (Population = 29 million)
ARIZONA = 3,454 Covid-19 inpatients (Pop = 7.3 million)
FLORIDA = 9,112 Covid-19 inpatients (Pop = 21.5 million)
CALIFORNIA = 8,363 Covid-19 inpatients (Pop = 39.5 million)

Those ICU numbers include facilities that were built out to increase ICU space. Miami Dade is at something like 150% of their normal ICU capacity.

I've worked in a hospital, have a family member thats spent more than 35 years working for the health service and is an expert in their field.
You really need to stop reading facebook posts, watching youtube videos and accepting them as facts because they fit your beliefs.
