Agreeing with you that you have an opinion is an attack now?

O...K... might want to see a doc about that thin skin before it disappears completely.

'You, the people' aren't free and don't deserve it as many who go on about 'mah rights' are not actually willing to fight for them. Make a real effort.

Just sit in a room hoping someone else will make the world a better place, the way you want it to be.

And when they don't. Do you get off your asses and do something about it? Nope, you crawl to the nearest website and start crying and demand someone fix your issues for you again.

Insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

There were way too many people, nobody social distancing or wearing masks. I think he did the right thing in postponing to a future date.
a reply to: ChiefD

who gets to decide that though? I mean come on in the end we are all responsible for our OWN personal safety. I think if the people who wanted to be heard were concerned about social distancing they could have left.

And the three councilmemebers were far enough away from the people where they can do social distancing right??

It would be one thing if the anti-mask people were only putting themselves in danger but that is not the case here.

They have no right to do public harm (i.e. spreading infection in the community). Therein lies the difference.
a reply to: FyreByrd

how do you know the anti mask people are spreading anything? how do we know that they have the virus?

Arson is a crime because it hurts the community at large. Going without a mask hurts the community at large.
a reply to: FyreByrd

Arson is a crime and the person is called an arsonist because they set the fire not because maybe they might have set the fire.

Wearing masks is not about keeping the wearer safe, it's about keeping everyone around the wearer safe. If everyone wears a mask in public and at work and at parties, the infection rates would plummet.
a reply to: FyreByrd

how long do we wear a mask for? Until herrd immunity?? until there is a vaccine? remember a vaccine is not promised.

The st. Louis couple who stood outside their home and defended it against potentially violent protesters, are now officially being charged by a Saint Louis prosecutor.

A cloth mask, which is what is being allowed, is less than 5% effective. If the purpose is to prevent the spread of a virus, reducing the possibility by 5% is negligible.

Wearing a mask serves no purpose whatsoever unless the wearer is infected. That renders your argument moot, unless you believe all people are infected?

On the contrary: Wearing a mask helps LOWER the anxiety of the people in your orbit: fellow citizens who are shopping, working, taking care of business, trying to stay alive for their own sake and their families.

Wearing it shows that at least you care enough to respect the very real and invisible threat many of your neighbors feel about this virus. Is it so hard to do? Just help others feel less anxious?
Maybe there would be fewer murders in the streets if we all just agreed to wear masks? To calm down and do what we need to do?

Or no?
