Nike lost 3/4bil subsequent to that decision. Im not thinking it pays that well.

IKR! The media kept talking about how successful the Nike/kappernick deal was! If you weren’t watching their stocks fall you would believe it.

Why does it matter??

A voice is being silenced--irregardless of political ideology--which is a thing to be avoided.

So we are going to police thoughts?

You asked why I cared what people think, and I gave some reasons. I don't support enforcing a particular view through force or policing, I'm not sure why you have that impression. That wouldn't be just or effective.

When I was speaking about ways of working with problematic / 'despicable' thoughts as you put it, I was thinking more along these lines...

Suppose there's a very depressed person with thoughts of taking their own life. It is possible in many cases to help this person to work with those thoughts, to psychologically rehabilitate them in a way, so that such thoughts subside and the person doesn't hurt themself.

I think this is similar to someone who suffers from racist thoughts. This is a person who is probably dealing with a lot of hate and anger and pain. They are suffering as well, even if they are the racists causing people of other colors to suffer. I think it is a benefit to everyone, the racist and the sufferer of racism, if we can find a way to psychologically rehabilitate such a person in a way similar to the suicidal person. Is this what you would call policing thought? I don't think that's a very accurate characterization here.

You can tell a persons political party by how they use analogies. If it sounds pretty but makes no sense, they’re a democrat.
I think it comes from the whole emotion vs logic thing they got going on.
I know it sounds mean but it’s true. They can’t meme and they can’t use analogies properly

The point you are willing to causally dismiss , is a company or a brand have every right to protect their Brand, thus hosting a neo Nazi sympathizer maybe problematic as showing graphic porn during prime time, after all porn is just an "Art form" and generally harmeless??? ...protected as free speech by American courts. wazzthematter it's just sex!!

Similarly, the Daily Caller, a publication that Carlson co-founded and in which he owned a major stake until last month, has repeatedly faced public outcry over various contributors and staffers who were revealed to have written white supremacist rhetoric on other platforms and outlets

.

Tucker is an owner of the Daily Caller.

A Daily Caller Editor Wrote for an ‘Alt-Right’ Website Using a Pseudonym

Scott Greer, an editor and columnist at the Caller, also wrote as “Michael McGregor” for Radix Journal, the publication associated with the “alt-right” figure Richard Spencer.

Now this guy feeding Tucker's speech have an indirect ear to arguably the most powerful single individual on the planet.

Tucker Carlson announces vacation after writer resigns over racist remarks

Fox News host also said ex-writer Blake Neff’s comments were ‘wrong’ but that he paid a ‘very heavy price’

The Fox News host Tucker Carlson responded to the resignation of senior writer Blake Neff on Monday night, saying racist and misogynistic comments Neff made on an online forum were “wrong”, but adding that the writer had paid a “very heavy price”.

Carlson also said he was taking a “long-planned” vacation. He did not say it was connected to Neff’s resignation, which was announced last week after a CNN investigation found that he had written on the online forum under a pseudonym for years.

One post, from 5 June, said: “Black doods staying inside playing Call of Duty is probably one of the biggest factors keeping crime down.”

Neff also maintained a thread for five years which contained sexist comments toward a woman and included personal details.

Carlson, the most-watched cable news host in US history, often generates backlash with on-screen rants against migrants and liberals, controversy he uses as fuel for further tirades.

Donald Trump is a committed viewer and there are whisperings among Republicans that the anchor could use his popularity to mount a presidential run in 2024.

The guy who puts words in the mouth of FOX's most popular talk show host , is an incel looking wy Supremacist and super troll , yet FOX & them didn't realized the racist POS who put words into the smug flytrap of Tucker Carlson's mouth for yrs, for who and what he is, and that Tucker himself has long and deep connections to such folks, I hope Tucker's fishing vacation became permanent , like Bill O'Reilly, ferfuksakes , Trump at times leans on him for advice.

Last time I checked he can say, think or write whatever he wants to. That’s his right as an American and as a human.

Don’t agree with it or want to support it? That’s your choice just like it’s his to say what he does. Stop trying to be the arbiter if right and wrong.

I mean, I’d put my money where my mouth is about not providing revenue to business whom I philosophically disagree with but I don’t have to... the ones run by Libs fail on their own very quickly so they do all the imploding for me

Tucker can think for himself. He is an adult who is in no danger of becoming racist just because someone who works for him likes to troll liberals in his free time. I don’t think that’s how racism works.
I would hate to think my employer would have to answer for the things I say on here. I don’t even mean half of them. 😂

Btw, has anyone started a nick cannon thread yet?

Guilt by association I see....so Tucker has a writer that does pseudonomynous work and now its actually Tucker himself that does it?

I mean, im ripe for hating on the dude. I've said it. But now you've done what was done with Trump: been so asinine in your critique of him that you make me feel a need to defend him.

His writer was an ass and got fired for it. Guilt by association? Maybe if the left didn't curl up and ignore their own being exposed as racists and didn't go around accusing anybody and everybody of being racist this may have had a bigger reaction.

No, guilt by direct connection, Tucker Carlson echoes some of his statements on air minus the expletives, to make things palpable. Pls revisit the links above, he have more than just that one guy working or worked for him, Blake Neff is no accident or one off.

Here is a short clip ^^ of how it is done, featuring Lee Atwater's play book.

It has become, for liberals and leftists enraged by the way Republicans never suffer the consequences for turning electoral politics into a cesspool, a kind of smoking gun. The late, legendarily brutal campaign consultant Lee Atwater explains how Republicans can win the vote of racists without sounding racist themselves:
