Working on your Birthday - yes or no?

How many of you usually end up working on your birthday?

For the past 5 years, I've worked on my birthday.
I work out of town - 1 week on, 1 week off.
How my schedule works out, Ill be working on my bday for the next 2 years.

My wife makes an ordeal out of it, saying I should be home with the family for it.
But to me, I honestly don't care if I work on it.
Bdays became a hindrance once I turned 21.

Hell, the other week I was driving home after being here at work for a week,
and I was thinking I was turning 39.
I was thinking damn, I'm getting old, I'm almost 40.

Then this weekend, my wife told me I'm only turning 38!
So that was a bonus.
I felt like I earned an entire year back.

How many of you make sure you take your birthdays off of work?
Who doesn't even keep track of how old they are anymore, because your bday feels like just another day?

I always do unless it falls on a weekend and when I still had my restaurants even that didn't matter.

Yesterday was my birthday. My daughter is sick and I've been taking care of her last 2 days. I normally work on my birthdays, this year I got this special assignment.

Never have, never will. It's on a federal holiday.

My wife's company give them their birthday off..
Not necessarily on the day but they get to schedule a day off.

When it falls on a weekday and not on a holiday, yes.

But I never tell anyone it's my birthday.

Yep, I'm working on my Birthday.

Working on it does not bother me.

The number it is this year, is REALLY bothering me.
