Who is my enemy? My enemy is the people, both foreign and domestic, who want to cancel America. Those who want to undermine the Constitution and revoke civil liberties.

See, the America as I knew it and studied it was a melting pot of different cultures and beliefs but we were all still AMERICAN and respected the institution which brought us together under one flag but allowed us the right to our different beliefs. And while some had more resources or connections than others, everyone had the same rights and an opportunity to work hard and follow your dreams.

This America is something much different. This America has been told to be ashamed of its history. This America is in the midst of a puritanical purging of anyone and anything who falls short of moral perfection. This America judges EVERYONE by the color of their skin and the color of their political party. This America has turned its citizenry against each other in an effort to break down the very fabric of unity that made it impermeable to defeat from any foreign entity.... Just look at the response after 9/11. People flew the American flag in droves to show their support and unity in being AMERICAN and that we would not fall to a foreign ideology which hated us just for being who we are.

And yet, here you are....questioning my agenda. My agenda is unify my countrymen to STAND UP to the covert war taking place to rob them of their country, history, and culture.

And that's where I again disagree. I am not canceling your right to be heard. I'm not cancelling your right to protest. These are fundamental rights that are inherent in being American.

My freedom to speak and dissent is inextricably tied to your freedom to speak and dissent. If I censor you, why shouldn't you censor me? If you silence me, why shouldn't I silence you? Once customs and laws are in place to silence someone on one topic, what's to stop people from silencing anyone on any topic that deviates from the accepted canon?

But just because I believe you have a right to your say that does NOT mean I have to accept or buy into your culture of victimhood. Nor does it mean that I have to stop digging into the people pushing over the dominos to encourage disruption, dissent, chaos, and tyranny which has NOTHING to do with perceived grievances but because they want attention and resources directed toward the distraction while they try to capitalize on the situation to further revoke and remove rights and liberties and cancel America. That's my point is that you are so caught up in your perceived grievances that you have no clue that you are being played at a higher level.

From a foreign perspective looking in on america from purely online commentary, the biggest threat to the country seems to be division, be it left/right, black/white, pro this/anti this, this religion/that religion etc...

The real enemy, while everyone argues, continues on manipulating and destroying.

Times change and values change, maybe it is time for a more socialist and/or inclusive society but not at the forced control of the un named entity that is currently promoting violence and dissolution of the constitution. It has to be in the hands of the people. The manipulators will always have fuel for their fire if people feel marginalized, persecuted and in constant struggle just to make ends meet. A portion of a population that is treated as a second class citizen is a weapon ready in storage, easily brought out, fired up. Those in control know this.

This is universal. All people around the world need to find their centre where everyone is equal and unified then the true perpetrators will not be able to coerce anyone. It really doesn't matter which type of governance is used; democracy, socialism, communism can all hold leaders to task if united. If effort always flows toward lifting up the downtrodden they will be on your side.

If all colors, religions, sexes, agree to live and let live, agree to disagree, because we simply cannot walk in other people shoes then these raging F'ers in charge won't get satisfaction. This starts with personal change... knowing that the downtrodden may have mental issues preventing them from attaining the american dream and need treatment not dersion, that if you don't like gay don't be gay but realize your gay neighbour has all the survival hardships you do but may have disadvantages you couldn't even think of, same with people of colour just struggling to survive and then some.

I spent 50 years on this planet before I found out I had three severe learning disabilities that prevented me from succeeding. I look normal yet I was judged endlessly and thought myself useless. It was a great lesson in the idea that even given privilege not all can make the most of it. The world is set up by and for the capable... by and large that is white, male, monied, christian, straight, middle aged. It needs to change.

I agree with going out and networking but my point is go well beyond your own people. Talk to others of other races, ages, sexualities, abilities. Set aside differences and gather the strength of the people who are rightly pissed off... that is where the energy is and the entities in power know this.

Wish I could remember the moment where we lost the idea of being a melting pot.

Yea we did bad things in the past, but pre-Dept of Education it seemed easier to find the truth, I remember getting a book on the trail of tears from the school library, right along side the other amazing things that happened as we built the nation.

Now I reckon the only thing you will find is how evil the nation is, and any attempt to speak well of the past will be met with skorn and anger and contempt.

I have been asking all over with regards to the BLM and CNN, and MSNBC claims about an epidemic of police hunting black people down, show me the numbers to prove it, they dont exist yet we are teetering on the edge of the abyss based off a lie.

"hunting black people down"... maybe the numbers aren't there representing actual deaths but day to day bullying is a reality. My kids was skateboarding with buddies near the bank at night (not smart) and someone called the cops. They arrived and only surrounded the kid of middle eastern heritage. It's these little things that passively build up resentment.

You hit on some great points. I'd like to add to it and focus a bit on ATS as an exchange for ideas free from the approval of the social collective.

We've been told for years that political correctness isn't part of some sinister effort to control us all. Some of us fought it, continue to fight it, and have recognized that control of our words would eventually become control of our ideas. We are free to express, but now we're being increasingly deprived of places to express our ideas. We knew where it was all going.

Private companies can control what is expressed on their platform. Nobody is denying that. I don't think anybody can argue that consolidation of the internet and media gatekeepers is a positive development for the free exchange of ideas, specifically those that don't adhere to ever narrower standards of what is "acceptable". We're finding ourselves an endangered species because of a systematic dismantling of our habitat. Once those habitats are gone the ideas have to find new homes, but those are also systematically being discovered and destroyed.

ATS is a sentinel. I think it's showing us the direction that everything is going. Ideas that are not acceptable and sanitized are to be eliminated from their platform. If they're on a platform not sympathetic to the new standards then the platform itself must be removed. It's a war to survive. This isn't happening in a vacuum though. It's being done all across various forms of media.

The rules of this war are irrelevant because they will change them, as they have all along, to best suit their needs at any given moment. Right now we have a chance to score a victory. We can save this site and keep the platform available for the ideas they don't want expressed, shared, and discussed.

I hope that everybody is holding on. This site isn't dead yet. There are people working to keep the site where it belongs, painfully embedded in the side of those that would like to see it die, free to use and view for everybody. It isn't over. It's really just getting started. The defunding is only the first hurdle. If we get over this hurdle there will inevitably be others. To me this isn't just about a website I enjoy reading. It's a statement.

Don't give in to despair. They want to wear you down. They want you to give up. Don't give them what they want.
