We're better than average on deaths/million.

Hurray for us!

Hopefully we can keep it that way.

Hurray is right. On the most important metric, we're not doing as bad as the media and--sadly--some members here wish we were.

I love how you didn't address the other progressive European countries that are doing worse than the US. All you have is "wait 2 weeks" which has been the mantra for the last 4 months.

There's likely problems with everyone's counts. For example our death rate is likely somewhere around 0.5%, since CDC estimates our actual number of infected is at least an order of magnitude higher than the numbers show.

I've even seen a few pundits say our actual number may be 30 or 40x higher than reported, of course in the context of trying to make Trump look bad by saying look how many cases we have. What they don't realize is that such numbers would drop the death rate down to between 0.1% and 0.2%, which puts it around the death rate of the flu. I'm sure once they realize that, that talking point will go away fast.

Still in hospital folks.

Herman Cain receiving oxygen, recovering from Covid-19 in hospital

Fortunately he's recovering, by all indications... but that rally was how long ago now? It's also fortunate he's a multi-millionaire. Health costs are of little concern. I think of the many others in worse conditions.

RIP

I had reservations with him as a candidate, but I had liked his radio show.

Covid-19 contributed to pushing him over the edge. Stage 4 cancer was the underlying condition.

Early exit from earth.
He should have not attended The Tulsa Covid rally.
Lots of others contributed to a mini spike from that rally.
Sad.

No it wasn't. His cancer was in remission since 2006.

Over 70.
Previously had cancer.

Definitely in the high risk category. I would have been isolating if it was me personally.

Not saying he wasn't high risk, he was, but there are a bunch of disingenuous posters trying to say he died from complications of cancer or that this was cancer related. It wasn't.

I was wrong...

He'll probably survive this as well. He beat Cancer not too long ago I believe but still, 74, he's vulnerable as with most people in that age bracket.

Wrong about the severity of COVID19.
