Here what actually happened...

An intelligent Democrat mayor let the city cool off and calm down before using opposing force against protestors.

I instead of marching in rubber bullet guns ablazing day 1, they did the SMART thing, let the protestors have their way and express themselves and continue their demonstration until things cooled down and they could go in and clean it up.

This is the PERFECT way to have handled it. If other cities had let it ride, instead of showing brute force early... there wouldve been alot of destruction.

You forgot to mention the two black men that were murdered at CHAZ. They would be alive today if CHAZ did not exist. Explain that, BLM?

It would seem some black lives matter more than others does it not... especially when an agenda is involved

The mayor let this happen , the mayor is culpable and responsible for the killing of black teenager, after you had repeated calls and warnings from the police chief that this is not a safe area.

She doesn't need to worry...The crazy liberals that live there will vote her in again...

The 25 blacks that are killed each day by other blacks is acceptable losses, nothing to see here since they do not counted. Neither do the 100 or so that are seriously wounded, many times with life long injuries.

Why do I have this sneaky suspicion that it only happened now because they took the fight to her home???

I do believe you have called it correctly

legitimate: viable or justifiable.

legitimize: to make something legal or acceptable.

Your quote: "The Black Panthers, the Weathermen Underground, Baader-Meinhof, and a lot of other legitimate violent groups...."

The Weathermen Underground for sure were thugs and criminals. Legitimate? I'm sick of people legitimizing these violent freakoids. Bill Ayers, imo, is still a "killer" at heart, a thug, a left wing looney posing as an "educator". Phew!!

I don't usually agree with that particular ATS member, but in this case I think you are playing word games. I read it as meaning the groups mentioned were LEGITIMATELY VIOLENT groups. That is not advoacting nor supporting them. That is defining them as truly (i.e. legitimate) violent groups. I think the choice of word was simply wrong to convey the proper context.

So, all I can add is,

I witnessed the beginnings of the Weather Underground. It sprang from the Peace Movement, the cause of my day.

There were some similarities and this round of madness is not far enough a long to see a new Weather Underground. They were bad apples who took advantage of the peaceful activities of the Peace Movement as a recruiting ground to find the worst of the worst.

They gathered the sociopaths from the movement and it evolved into a small group of very dangerous people like Bill Ayers. The taking over of the universities by them is no accident. It's part of the long term plan by what amounts to Marxists. They have been brainwashing students since the late 70s and a version of them were already in the universities in the early 70s. You've got to give them kudos for sticking to a extremely long term plan to bring down our form of democracy and capitalism, by force if necessary.

The dangerous people are not those in CHOP that were visible, they would be behind the scenes whispering in peoples ears, just like the Weather Underground did.

You obviously know the history. My opinion is that these idiots who do things like this aren’t as radical as those guys were back in the day, and that’s a good thing.

Some may feel that ideology is still prevalent. I’m afraid I have to disagree. It's all a matter of degrees.

Sure there are some old-time radicals in the background in some cases but nothing like the era when the FBI did Cointelpro.

COINTELPRO (syllabic abbreviation derived from COunter INTELligence PROgram) (1956–1979, and beyond) is a series of covert and illegal projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting American political organizations.

These individuals want to play a revolution and were never dangerous.

This stupid Mayor's actions or nonaction should make her think next time she abandons a community and two kids get murdered --gunned down in this CHOP state.

Drug dealers, gangs, street homeless, and the FAKE revolutionaries who want to play revolution.

There's a good shot in the video of the cops taking back their graffiti-ridden station house and the AA chief of Police thanks them.

The liberal pie-in-the-sky fantasy must come down to earth and realize what the streets are really all about.

I'm all for some liberal causes in theory but the reality is not their fantasies

They know NOTHING about the real streets of American urban cities.

Was very glad to hear our local law enforcement is back onsite and cleared out the idiots.

Our fake socialist councilmember Sawant herded all the protesters over to our equally corrupt mayor's house, now Durkin is humming a completely different tune. Mystery body parts and homicides, and the last one where their "security" unloaded 300 rounds into an unarmed vehicle, yeah this city has had enough of this.

Now if we can just vote all these idiots out of office next election, but the problem remains that they keep giving us sold out smurfs as options.
