I was watching the tremendously inspiring images from Beirut Lebanon. Over a million people are demanding that Syria leave Lebanon at once and that Lebanon be allowed to have a free election. In other words, the Lebanese people want to be free. They want a democracy with free, fair and open elections. And they have gained the hope for this to come about through the Bush Spread Democracy Doctrine. After seeing a successful election in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Ukraine, democracy is spreading.

Has this spreading initiative for democracy begun to vindicate Pres. George W. Bush's actions?

Ask Saudi Arabia about freedom and democracy.

Bush goes to war to try to save the falling global value of the US dollar. Saudi Arabia still backs the dollar, so thier tyrany goes unchecked. Syria, Iran, and Iraq (before the war) were moving to Euros, hense war to save the economy.

Democracy is great, but don't be fooled into thinking the democracy from US action in the middle east is anything more than a biproduct of currency stablizing.

The world is rarely as simple as "spreading freedom".

Liberals everywhere are opposed to the spread of freedom. Look at the massive protests by the socialist leaning Europeans.

Actually it's not much different than the US bringing gunships and aiming them at Japan to open trade in the 1800's.

Also, with regard to the liberal comment, it has nothing to do with freedom. I am opposed to most of what Bush does. Am I opposed to people choosing how they want to live, how they want to be governed or the way their children grow up? No. Democracy is a goverment which allows for corporate control and empowers that control. All we are talking about installing "Economic-Friendly" governments being established end of story.

No matter how successful someone is, a liberal will always find something wrong with them and complain. They believe that a socialist, communist society is perfect because they are in fact jealous of people in power, jealous of people with money and they refuse to work hard to attain it. They want to make the same amount of money as a scientist while they work at burger king because they think they are being punished some how. Goerge Bush is getting rid of scum and murders and dictatorships whose only goal is nuc and bio weapons but the libs are so afraid of confrontation which is eveident by them not joining the military. Let everyone else fight for them, when the # hits the fan and someone does invade the US after the libs turn our military into nothing, they will hide in their houses and wait for it to be over, wait for the republicans to save the US and then come out and blame everyone. Guess what, if this country ever gets attacked and I see a lib hiding, I will consider you as an enemy and you know what happens. Your refusal to embrace your country and love it for the best country int he world which you inherited, you have no right to change this great land. You have no right to change something that works. Quit blaming people and get a job or a clue. Do you really hate this country so much youd rather kill babies than a terrorist. Youd rather trust Saddam than your own country loving president. You are messed in the head. I coulod continue for hours but I have finals to study for so I can be rich and tell you what to do!

Of course George Bush is an Idiot who has no idea what he is doing. President's Sons being President is an Insult to this Nation. He is a puppet who cannot spell, speak or even remember the past. He can spend lots of money on his friends and vacations asd booze as his history has shown us.

Now we have the sober yet tarnished face of a bratty boy who once did anything he wanted and failed and yet still stayed at the upper echelons of U.S. society.

I personally don't believe that George Bush can take credit for any spread of democracy. Really in Israel and Palestine, it had nothing to do with him, rather a timely death of Yasser Arafat and a swing in the power structure of the Palestinians. Now groups like Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad actaully have a say in the process rather than Arafats stringent control. Now unless Bush killed Arafat, I don't think he had anything to do with this sudden change in the balance there.

Another place to look at then is Lebanon, and seeing that Hezbollah has strong connections with the Syrians, and they hold many seats in the Syrian parliament, and they are trying to become a legitimate political party, that is the reason they are pulling out, not because of Bush, or any pressure. If anything it would have been the pressure from the French and the Germans because their involvement would have meant a REAL global coalition unlike what occured in Iraq.

Bush can take credit for Iraq, and Afghanistan because he has troops there that are enforcing their version of democracy on those peoples. Other than that I don't believe in any snow balling effect at all. It wasn't some giant dominoes set up.

I am not saying that what Bush has done hasn't inadvertantly helped to bring about change, I just absolutely don't think he had these intentions in mind AT ALL.

I feel pretty free...the only military base near me is my local TA hall and thats just the reme and some argyll's (okey I take it back now I'm afraid!)
