That's the problem.
He doesn't have the authority without the other branches cooperation.

I think there is a difference. If Reddit doesn't want content on their site, they are welcome. And it could be that The_Donald was problematic from a monetization standpoint, who knows.

But a site choosing what content it has vs an advertising monopoly using their monopoly to control speech are 2 different things.

FWIW, the very definition of fascist relates to using socioeconomic leverage to control a populace. Googles attack on conservative views is the very definition of actual fascism.

Seems like it has been dead silent on that topic. I havent heard anything new but this should probably be in a thread of its own.

Youre right. But Ive been here 15 years and havent made a thread yet. Why start now? Besides, my spidey sense tells me theyre related.

Reddit "we need to hire a black person, who cares about finding the best person for the job". The Donald was dead for months now, members of that subreddit made a look alike reddit to get away from the censorship. thedonald.win...

Reddit continues to allows hate and racism towards white people all over the place. They allow a subreddit that won't allow you to post unless your skin is the right color.

Yet those are the people screaming about their lives mattering. The hypocrisy is stunning.

Trump owns entire media platforms. He isn't being silenced, just opposed.

Which media platforms? Not some fringe stuff. Name the big boys. I'm generally curious because I spoken to lots of leftist who claim they don't own 90% of the media

Which ones? I found four TV shows. What networks or social media companies does he own?

That's how capitalism works ladies and gents. But maybe you have more in common with commies than you think?!
Reddit is a private entity that is afraid to lose members, so from a business standpoint they get rid of a sub.so how's that fascism?

Corporate censorship is just as abhorrent as state censorship. Censorship in general is a moral evil.

There should be laws regulating the ability of corporate entities that host for-profit public forums ability to restrict speech. Either allow all political discussion, or none, if you intend to host a public platform.

Ideas will thrive and die based on their merits and not corporate approval and groupthink.

As a sidenote, i find the fanatical devotion many on what i deem the new left to corporate entities and their constant defence of corporate power and influence to be a sign that traditional leftism is well and truly dead. A few years back i would proudly call myself a Socialist. Now i would never use that label on myself. My principles are the same, but Socialism no longer means what it used to.

Faux News, Breitbart, and a whole stack who echo them. You know, news media that never say a single thing against the President and that search for excuses and justification for every slip up and lie Trump does, while also paying out on his opponents, real and imagined.

And as for social media groups, you could consider The Tea Party and many other right-wing groups with a platform to be totally pro-Trump.

at it used to.

Many of you don't understand that cyberspace is something you pay for out of your own damn pocket. It's not much different than buying a house. If reddit wants to exhibit censorship in their own damn house that they are paying for than its up to them. Reddit is not public.
It costs 25$k dollars a month to keep ATS running. Who are you to tell me what I may or may not publish on hardware that I pay for?

To be fair Trump and Fox are on the outs. Fox's polls show Trump trailing behind Biden so clearly they're "fake news" now too.

Its not Reddits facsism. Its their site, they can do what they want.

Fascism is when Google uses its authority to exert socioeconomic pressure on third parties to control a political narrative.

Its not my job to come up with their business model.

Users should not be blamed for incompetent corporate management. A trend common in many industries today in the west.

Costs a lot to run a newspaper as well. Try publishing libel in it and see what happens.

To be fair, Trump's initial election wasn't on a wave of popularity.

It doesn't mean that Trump is being silenced in any way, just because he is banned off one, or a few, platforms. He is more 'in your face' and broadcast than any other person in America.

Yes, all news outlets are fake. The only truth is Trump, especially when he says something stupid and false, and it is clear he was forced into it by all his vast numbers of opponents (including those who hardly even speak publicly, or never speak publicly).

LOL.
