Sweden and Avoidance of COVID Lockdown Confounds WHO

People chanting "Be like Sweden" are missing the point. According to this article, Sweden didn't need a hard lock down because most Swedes follow the guidelines without having to be forced to do so. Maybe if people were more like the Swedes then their governments could be more like Sweden's.

This link shows a video of how they kept things open. It shows social distancing and there is one bit where a place was shut down by a council inspector for not following the guidelines and not allowed to reopen until they had installed plexiglass dividers between tables, so it isn't like they have not taken any measures.

And, still, Sweden in ‘Very Deep Economic Crisis’ Despite Soft Lockdown.

If you calculate their current death rate (5,333) and adjust in order to compare to the US (multiply by 32.77), they would be at 174,762 deaths.

You can see how things are being worded to appear that Sweden did the wrong thing but perhaps we can see if everyone had down the same the world's economy would not be in such a bad state.

So how many people not on ATS took supplements to improve their immune system? How many could have been saved if the treatments we use today was used in the beginning?

Sweden was the anomaly, and no other country wanted Sweden to 'succeed' in its own strategy; neither did most of the lock-down cheerleaders on ATS.

The UK toyed with Sweden's approach before losing its bottle... more fool us as we currently wade through an economic wasteland, with thousands of jobs still hitting the wall each day and the prospect of unemployment figures not seen for over 100 years, and an economic hit not seen since the 18th century.

Genius.

Globally, 2020 was the Year Of The Pillock. The damage is done.

According to this, Unemployment continues to increase, Sweden is going to be seeing tough economic times ahead as well.

Like I posted above, the Swedes did much of the same things done in other countries; social distancing, self isolating, minimal shopping runs. The only difference is that they were not forced to do so.

Maybe, when it is all over, there might be something which can be deemed a "success" in how they handled things but right now there doesn't seem to be anything.
