While I agree with your assessment, I believe that was the plan all along. Get Trump to re act and create the globalist version of Tienanmen Square going up to the election.

As much as I wanted to see heads getting cracked, Trump did the right thing by standing back and letting the normies see the spectacle of a Utopia the globalists supported.

This is probably the only way to get Seattle to do anything. If they are held accountable.

Probably ran out of food, unable to grow their own and goodwill for them running thinner and thinner by the day.

You know who will be paying them for their lawsuit if they win? Themselves, as well as the rest of the tax paying populace. Cutting off their noses to spite their faces.

Exactly my thoughts. He could have acted, but it would have been played out on the media as a scenario worse than Waco, Ruby Ridge, and others combined.

He did the right thing, leaving the state and local governments to their own devices. If they had wanted Federal authority to act, all they had to do was ask. The offer was clearly out in the open. Plain and simple.

Maybe... I'm more inclined to think this was some kind of mini dry run for more grandiose future plans, trying to provoke a response to know what to prepare for and fight the next time.

Well, you're right, that is one plus in the whole debacle. Sometimes bad examples are the best examples.

According to this, CHOP is going home, declaring "success".

Yep the success was that socialism doesn’t work and actually just causes more racism as we’ve seen with their segregation attempts.

Reelect Biden and the Gov n Mayor because of the great support and service they’ve given, if you want to see this continue. Yeah right...GTFO all ready. The Gov n Mayor are a complete and absolute 100% FAILURE.

They’re also saying that now that this over, they’re going to turn to “virtual activism”. Be ready to be bombarded with even more hate from these babies after they’re done running away.

the use of federal force is EXACTLY what was wanted there. The left was hoping upon hope that Trump would use that option, then they could call him a dictator and use that in campaign adds. By leaving them to their own idiocy, he subverted that plan I think. And now the mayor and Governor look like total fools to the world, as well they should.

Well, as awesome possum as that may (or may not) work out for Trump's political career, it's a dereliction of his duty as Chief Executor of the law and the Constitution, and at the ever increasing expense of real people with real lives and real needs.

even if it's a really nice trap, it's still a trap. Rule is, don't fall for them.

What did he do? Let them destroy themselves. Sadly, some innocents were caught in the middle, but then, that seems to be the case all over, and nobody really cares. Tear that sh!t down!

As with Covid, he made a choice and will be demonized by everyone for it, but that would have happened no matter what choice he made, just different groups screaming.

Why does this all need to be dealt with at the federal level? Are States not able to police themselves? If not, we are in way worse shape than I thought.

Yup! If there's one thing lawyers and politicians have mastered it's the art of spinning any truth into something ugly. And it's no coincidence that so many lawyers are politicians and so many politicians are lawyers.

For a couple reasons. One, because it's an enumerated right of the people; Two, it's an enumerated duty of the Federal government; and, Three, because the states refused to do their Constitutional duty as well, thus placing the responsibility upon the Feds.

The people who allowed it in their own neighborhood are at fault. Heck, I'm sure many of them supported it at the start. They should be taking their grievances to their new overlords.

Just proves you can't rely on the government to fix all your problems.

Yea I'm sure if a shop owner stood up to they most likely told to STFU or we will burn your business down. it's called forced compliance.

I guess people are going to be disappointed once again when the SCOTUS tells them it isn't the job of police to protect citizens?

When there was claims of extortion going around several reporters went in to validate that. What they found was that while there was little to no truth to the extortion claims, many business owners were unphased at worst to have the zone. Others were downtown elated.

They made their beds. Let them lay in them.

It's about time

I think it's time that all businesses and residents who suffered damage, loss or physical assault in the riots sue their local government for allowing it to happen and sitting on their hands just watching.

He's supposed to wait for the local officials to call the Feds in. Since the locals were all either denying it or backing it ... and the press was complicit in it, his hands were more or less tied until it got the point where the truth could not be ignored anymore.
