There was some discussion a while back on why ATS was so supportive of Trump after being opposed to the last two administrations so vehemently.

I hypothesize that it's because that most ATS members perceive Trump to represent radical opposition to authoritative and established norms in institutions. So, when Trump breaks the law or does something contrary to normal ethics of governance it's applauded on ATS whereas when Bush or Obama conformed to norms it was derided.

Those authoritative and established norms are simply called, 'the deep state.' So, despite the terrible things the Trump administration has and will do, ATS members support it wholeheartedly because they still perceive him to be the opposed to the 'deep state.'

this is the key to the hobby of conspiratorial thinking.

if every one thinks something, 'is it true?'
if everyone is attacking someone, 'are the justified?'.
something in the sky, 'aliens?'

You are trying to describe an old man like a classic car.
Biden is not a 65 mustang.
His demeanor is more of a 72 pinto.

Milquetoast means, timid, feeble, bland.
From a cartoon character named Casper milguetoast.

LOL I was thinking Biden is more like the Edsel...

trumps is all about hype, he's the best at everything, knows more than the military or scientist, and has the mistaken notion that all his supporters are stupid and will believe his BS. A lot of them do but now after 4 years it's boring as the campaign kick off Tulsa fiasco proved.

He’s about as interesting as wet paint.

...at least wet paint can remember where it is.

Umm.... Ya because the "wet paint" never leaves the space.

The second down comment

"This is probably the greatest political ad ever made. Absolute perfection showing the insane hypocrisy from these sycophants".

The original post would have more merit to if it took into account....

Most of the young generation voters that voted Obama, ended up voting for Trump.

Trump won the base voters of the Republican party, but he won the god damn election because of democrat turncoats

I'm glad he didn't want to be the party of the KKK and slavery.

The Democrats aren't that. Times have changed since 211 years ago.

The Republicans have also now embraced the neo-Nazis.

True.
They also led violent protests screaming about mistreatment and inequity.

I mean...12 years ago a majority of ATS members were opposed to Bush and overwhelmingly supportive of Obama. A few years into Obama's presidency the majority of members, again, opposed the conformity of norms that the administration had adhered to and opposed Obama's policies.
Trump is different though. Despite his demands that guns should be taken away without due process, his suggestions that being 'president for life' isn't a bad idea, his ease in placing high-priced lobbyists in his administration and throughout government, his heavy-handedness when it comes to protest, his general derision of a free press, and his demanding that everyone who works for him is supportive and subservient to him.
I believe that the majority of ATS members have backed Trump simply because of the perception that he is 'on their side,' not because he's actually representative of their ideals and beliefs.

You can post on and on about 'socialism this' and 'freedom that' but, at the end of the day, Trump is milking you and the federal government for every last penny he can get his hands on while telling you that he's on your side.

Fortunately we won't have to put up with your complete misunderstanding of our politics much longer. Dems are still the party of racism and using Wikipedia as a source is laughable. The KKK is still active. Do you try to be this ignorant on purpose?

I like it when Trump's base says things like , 'Trump has been in the public eye for 5 decades, dude hasn’t changed'.

It shows just how brainwashed the sheeple really are ...

It's clear that Trump is not a Republican , not even close to being 'conservative' and the only chance he stood of winning an election [which has been his life long dream] was to switch to the party of radical cult followers , party line voters , and 'yes' men

Trump's a cog in the same machine that ATS used to be against

I kind of agree but I think he is more an act of desperation on the part of that machine. He's kinda like the Vince McMahon of politics. But not nearly as likable or admirable.

Bottom line, you want a larger, more controlling government.

The left does.

None of you want more freedoms or else you wouldn't be knocking down statues.

None of you want more freedoms, smaller government.
