Don't shoot the messenger!

These threads I remember fondly, so what do you have planned tonight? Because from tonight they'll get less bright!

Gotta love that light right?

Me? I'm getting drunk and reflecting on a crazy year so far and thinking of what's to come. The nights will only get darker from now after all. So like without getting all pagan or religious or whatever...

I hope y'all shine on like the sun will today, I hope we all shine on each other again. Time changes things. But some things? They're constant. Like the solstice!

Summer is mellow and chillax (do kids still say that?).

For us in the far north, Winter Solstice feels more important.

Marking time in laps around the sun... are old?? (Me? Over 50 but have been doing it for decades. Probably because I am weird!)

Or, might be only how some of our northern brethren feel.

I just like it is not anywhere near as hot as last year!!

(Or is it....
)

PS - Full disclosure, drinking while posting!!

I'm hearing you in a way that sends shivers down a sweaty forearm.

I've followed it for about 10 years. I don't live in the Arctic circle but I do live far enough north where 5 hours of daylight have you longing for the warmth of summer.

And 5 hours of night have you longing for the winter!

The latter is a lie, the dark hours or two of summer are the greatest. I'd say moonlight sonata sums it up brilliantly from a melodic point of view.

Anyways I was drunk when I made this thread, I'm drunk now, yet I still can't pin you as a 50+ year old member... You never seemed jaded enough to match your age!

Ha!

Hope it's warm but not too warm!

In the northern hemisphere I was drunk. Cheers for shooting the messenger 😁

Btw never change your profile pick. That man could tell the news! Do people still watch regional news?

I'll always hold ceremony above religion.

We do personal ceremonies for personal reasons. Religious ceremonies will always be for somebody else.

Good company and something to equally enjoy is a party in my eyes. Enjoyment needn't be about excess. I'm happy you enjoyed the day!

I mean it's just another day really isn't it?

Ultimately it's those links we make that make any day grand. And you don't need fireworks or booze for that!
