I know you said no editorials but polls are also frowned upon on this site

At $25k a month (according to SO) you would need 2500 members to pay $10 monthly when the site only gets 2000 unique visitors per month. 10% engagement seems to be a general number I see when it comes to hits versus comments on vlogs, blogs, and other various online content. That brings you down to 200 engaged users. Of those let's be generous and say that at least 50% want to pay to be apart of this site. 100 users footing a $25k monthly bill working itself out to $250 monthly.

The math fits with the other thread where the OP asked for people to post once if they would pay. That thread is also at over $200 monthly per person in order to fund the site.

Hope you have the money for an online membership drive campaign

NOTE - I fear we have gotten enough members to demonstrate they would be willing to pay an incremental fee to participate in ATS.

At the same time, I think we have seen the owners of ATS aren't really that interested in keeping ATS as a website. In other words, they're done.

So, our efforts to demonstrate incremental financial support are falling on deaf ears.

They're done.

Thank you for all the responses, both affirmative and negative. I do appreciate them all.

It seems we will need to find another way.

Best,

FCD

If they've given up on operating the site and are just burned out...you are right.
No idea from members...no matter how viable...is going to be entertained.

I though SO did indicate members (membership-owned) completely buying out the site was something he viewed as a viable option.
Under that scenario...new owner/members would lose out on the experience and expertise in operation that the current ownership has accrued and brings to the table.

This is exactly why I've proposed a joint-ownership option:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Membership interest definitely exists for this option.
