Once a month no pressure on members because some don’t have it.

It works everywhere else I go. $5, $10 or $20 is the norm but many people will go as high as $50 to $200 off and on .

SOl you could try it tomorrow and you should .

Put me down for $50

Anybody else?

Oddly enough, I have some extra money laying around but no GoFundMe for ATS to send it to.

That doesn’t take long. Nor does pay pal .

Some do snail mail donations to a P.O box .

Something else I failed to mention . The owner can set a goal for monthly cost and what not. Once that goal is reached you just pulled the donation thread down . If there’s a surplus you factor that in to the next months cost .

It’s a proven model that’s been done on countless sites like these.

I don't really think they care for a solution. Dunno, but that's the vibe I'm getting.

Not paying for a mudpit. Certain things would have to change.

Seem to recall something like this happening afew years ago when a new sever upgrade or something was desperately needed.

If I remember rightly it was just a one off request.

I think lots of people would pay a monthly subscription, the question is who would administer the site, its finance and upkeep and maintenance etc?

I get the impression the Three Amigos kind of lost interest - or other life things took over - quite some time ago.

Anonymous donations with no stipulations. If you don’t like something shut up and don’t donate. Elsewise you’re just going to cause division .

The subscription idea has its faults. What if somebody can’t maintain their subscription do we ban them ?

I will reiterate no pressure on anyone to donate.

It will work without losing anybody .

It was repeated DDOS attacks without sufficient protection.

Please don't get me wrong, I would love to see it - or anything - work and keep ATS active.

I'm just pointing out some practical difficulties that would lie ahead for any sort of membership funded/owned future of this great site.

don't worry guys, the DoD would never let this honey pot slip though their fingers... there's data to be mined and dossiers to assemble. keep spilling your heats out about how anti-vax/anti-government/pro-life/christian you all are so they know what houses to go to first!

www.insanemedia.net...

ATS has been known to go offline because of 'ddos' during government shutdown... nothing to see there tho, of course.

I wasn’t singling you out in anyway .

I just don’t like the idea of subscriptions because it’s basically a contract and if you don’t hold up your end of the contract bad things have to happen. It’s just the way things are .

I have no idea what the cost would be here. But from the other sites I’ve been to it’s under $1000 a month closer to 500 .

Either of those would be easily attainable for us for what the Big Cheese has brought us .

I wouldn’t mind him turning a profit .

I like to try things out or on before I spend my hard earned money. Some of us still have to work for a living.

But if ATS is going to be one big mudpit, no thanks!

SO said it would take at least $25k a month to maintain ATS.

I have absolutely no idea why it costs so much but I also have no reason to disbelieve him.

I just hope better minds than mine can come up with a solution, I know I'd be willing to help in whatever way I can.

In a perfect world there would be the normal threads for everyone and a subscriber's area.

Don't pay the monthly? Lose access to just that area.

A proven business, model, btw.
