The new trend in American business.. become CHINESE! THis should make everyone feel wonderful on this blue Monday. The American economy is going third-world. It's no surprise, of course. It's just disgusting to hear stuff like this:

Cisco's CEO, John Chambers, declared recently: "What we're trying to do is outline an entire strategy of becoming a Chinese company."

These creeps don't give a rat's A double S about America's working men and women. I say give folks like him a one-way ticket to Shanghai. They're as good as traitors.

Turning Chinese
So Much for the New Bush Economy
By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS

The February payroll jobs figures released last Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics show a continuation of America's descent into a third world service economy.

The Bush administration cheered the creation of 229,000 private sector jobs (which still leaves Bush with a net private sector job loss during his reign). However, once we look at the details, the joy vanishes: 174,000 of the jobs, or 76% of the total, are in nontradable services.

Administrative and waste services (largely temporary help and employment services) account for 61,000 or 35% of the new service jobs. The remainder are accounted for by construction (30,000), retail trade (30,000), healthcare and social assistance (27,000), and waitresses and bar tenders (27,000).

"Administrative and waste services (largely temporary help and employment services) account for 61,000 or 35% of the new service jobs."

I don't know about anyone else, buy I think the temp services are just a scam anyways.......an unnecessary middle-man between employee and employer. This just adds to the cost of doing business doesn' t?

"The remainder are accounted for by construction (30,000), "
yep......we need new buildings!! So the old ones can sit empty and become nests for rats and whatever!

"retail trade (30,000), "
they said on the news that we are a nation of people living beyond our means......ya, we really need more retail trade, don't we.....we are spending money we don't have....but, that is good for our economy?

----------------------------------------
but, well,

" " healthcare and social assistance (27,000), and waitresses and bar tenders (27,000). "

ahhh, yes, let us eat, drink, and be merry.......for tommorrow we die!!!

you sure there isn't something that the government should be telling us?? Like umm....I don't know, like well.....go ahead, buy all the crap you want, you won't have to pay the debt back, because all the crap will kill you soon anyways!!!

I read somewhere not too long ago, that the prison sector was the only true growth sector with potential in America. The construction industry would appear to thrive off of that growth, but the primary mover in the American economy remains the prison system.

It's a 'good' reason to keep marijuana illegal. That keeps the grist mill grinding.

Bush is back with his trickle down crap, and it's just not a good theory of economics. The only sensible thing you can expect money in a capitalist society to do, is 'wick' up. It gets drawn to the top naturally, so why not infuse the base.

When you add oil to a lamp, do you pour it over the top of the flame or add it to the resevoir?

Sometimes things are so simple..people just need to think for themselves. We've been trained not to.

I think this whole nation needs to be locked in a motel room and deprogrammed.

At least there are plenty of waitpersons to bring us booze so we can forget about how in debt we are. Charge it to my card, baby!

Based on the way this administration's going, I wouldn't doubt it if one day (after our economy collapses from our collective debt), they re-institute debtors prison/labor camps. Why not? The private prison industry would make out like bandits off our blood, sweat and tears and lenders would eventually get something in return.

I tell you what ECK one of the reasons the administration is not telling how is going to pay for SS investments accounts is because is counting of loans from China to do that so our investments accounts will be own by the Chinese.

And now Bush is bringing his secret weapon for the pro SS reform propaganda, Mrs. Karen huges, she is dirty and nasty and she will lie to no end to the gullible people in her propaganda and she will have not guilt about it.

After all she is the one that won the elections with lies for Bush when he ran for Texas government and some said that perhaps she was behind the veteran’s campaign against Kerry during last elections.

Yeah, nasty and dirty, but I guess the administration last resort is the Chinese to help our economy, I guess they don't look very communist anymore to our government

Tell me about it.
China's gonna bail on US investments at some point, too. It will do untold damage. Economic warfare's a bitch.

As for the SS scheme.. All folks are gonna wind up doing is giving more of their money to a middleman. That's it. By the time the middleman gets his cut, you're not gonna be making a dime more off your investment than you already would be. It's a total scam.

You know also that one of the biggest conglomerated “Wal-Mart” is also one big job giver in American, but also they inundate our markets with cheap stuff to target middle class Americans but at the same time taking mama and papa out of business with their goods, you got it!!!! From China, I guess labor in china and human rights violations doesn't’t look that bad for our administration.

Outstanding, ha, ECK, is our economy hurting that bad? That we are going blind about communist and human rights violators?

Cry me a river, since when have any company given a crap about employee's. They are in business to make money not to give you a job or a 401. You don't like them then do what millions of us have. Start your own business, be your own boss. 30 years ago it was Japan that took cheap manufacturing jobs from here, then the koreans took them from Japan and now China using a slave labor economy will take them from everyone. Anybody left out there that believes you will work for a large corp for 30 years like your grand father is nuts. There is plenty of ways to make a good-great or obsene living without giving your best years making some jackoff and his kids live good.

Marg is right. Our government has totally turned its back on our committment to hold China accountable for human rights violations. But then again, this administration has done their share of stomping on human rights, so.. I can see how they place the highest premium on American companies, over our working men and women. It's all about the fatcats. Human rights..? communism..? Who cares? Cheep goods rule.

All Hail to McWallyworld!

...One could always sell out the taiwanese if the chinese become reluctant about loans...

Also companies like Exxon seem to post record earnings in these troubled times, so what is all the fuzz about

In 20 years, the only decent jobs left will be in mainstream media, law enforcement, the practice of law, medicine and intelligence. The majority of our population will work (if lucky) in some shytty service job like MANUFACTURING burgers, handing out payday loans, or scrubbing toilets of the rich and famous.

Go NAFTA and GATT!

Well Ed all we Americans know something for sure, "nothing is happening" our economy is in deep trouble and if the experts in the matter say so and are "warning" us about it, then I guess you need to go back and check if "Global economy" is really working.

My pocket book said is not.

Eliminate all taxes and let's see what this does for the economy. Then we can start from there on improving the economy.

Well I think you are close but we need some for actual needs of the federal government.

A consumption tax would be a good start, even if the only good from that is the firing of all the IRS.

Sorry, but I've got to disagree with you,Eastcoastkid. When the Dems were in control I really didn't have much to look forward to.Not much of an income, very little food in the house, broken down cars, yadayada. You know the story, woe is me.

But you know what?Since the Reps took over control,I was able to buy a house and pay cash for it,saved along time for it.I am making nearly three times what I was when Clinton/Gore ran the store.I have a fantastic health insurance plan and a great retirement to look forward to.

Why?Certainly not because of George Bush.He did not give me anything. What he did do is instill some hope in people that there may be a chance. The Democrats are socialists who love to control people. They love to take our income and waste it on entitlment programs.

When some of the controls in the world of business started to loosen I was able to take control of my situation.I got off my butt and got a better job,a better car and was able to save enough to buy a home.

Instead of whining about Wally world and the cheap crap they are importing, lets look at the real problem. If we Americans were not willing to buy that cheap crap they wouldn't sell it,would they?Instead of being greedy and lazy why don't we return to our core values and make America strong again.

George Bush doesn't control the economy, the people behind the scenes do.He is a puppet, just like Bill Clinton was.The Chinese and other Asian economies are booming simply because we allow them to.Face it,we are still the most powerful nation in the world.Everybody wants to be an American. We would not be having the immigration problem if that were not true.

We can improve our economy if we want to.It isn't a complex formula, but it will take the cooperation of every person living here.Turn your 52" plasma screen off and go to work.By the way,who the heck needs an H2? thats gotta be one of the most irresponsible vehicles on the road today. All you are doing by taking out a loan on one is to give your money to foreign interests.Buy a car you can pay cash for. That'll be a good start right there.

Smell the hypocrisy here? Doing business with a chinese govt who controls the people, have murdered them in the past like tiennamen square, but in the other hand liberates iraqi's from another regime who controls the people, but then allows people in darfur africa and haiti to suffer more versions of dictator's, and in south africa..

ok, so perhaps they don't have any natural resources that would benefit any of the companies over here, like oil... I know dick cheney's company wouldn't get much use of these countries.
