Race is only an issue because some people make it an issue. And some people will always make it an issue, and never for any good reason. That includes LEOs, so I don't doubt there is some racially motivated misconduct.

But it's wrong to kill anyone for the same exact reason and it's NOT skin color! Of course Black lives matter because ALL lives matter. Likewise, if Black lives don't matter, then NO lives matter. And, indeed, there are many others who have suffered the same fate as Floyd, but they weren't Black and their killings weren't hyped and propagandized then weaponized.

When we address the factors that allow bad cops to kill anyone and get away with it, we will necessarily also address the factors that allow bad cops to kill black people and get away with it.

Great! All of you are on board with "there is no race, there is no racism" then perhaps you can explain why Black Lives Matter tears you all a new one.

You believe there is no race. The people in Black Lives Matter disagree. But you all love them and value them for the special luminous beings they are without regard to race ... you just want to tell them how to associate, how to think, how to act, what to believe, etc.

Yes they did . Some Africans even Gained their Freedom during the Revolutionary War , but it Eventually Took a Internal Civil War to Abolish Human Slavery Altogether in America . The Country is Still a " Work In Progress " , and it takes TIME to Right All the Wrongs that Human Civilization Brings .......

How on earth do you or anybody else think that we could possibly police ourselves...?

That’s why we have the rule of law...insurance...and police departments...and places of worship...because no-one is capable of living up to even the most basic of libertarian ideals...

The amount of responsibility involved...is staggering...and if you truly think your up to that task...then please lead by example...

There are so few...on this site...let alone out there in the greater unwashed...that even understand that...and frankly...no one...including myself is even close to...up to the task...


Can you honestly say that you can live a perfect lifestyle where you...do no wrong...?

Where your every moment doesn’t negatively impact any other being...

Cripes...this pandemic has exposed just how selfish people are in that regard...

Then add to it this looting and burning...disguised as protest...

Show me that person that can honestly say they...do no wrong...and I’ll show you someone in stasis...locked in an single moment...frozen in time...

I have to disagree here. The KKK was a supremacist group garnered from the most ardent racists of the dominant race at the time. They sought to deny equality and to keep the minority race in submission and second class citizenry.


Not entirely correct.

They were a group of people funded by the Democratic party to kill Republicans.

The majority of blacks at the time were Republican, after all...

They went to towns and told the blacks that if they did not swear fealty to the Democratic party then they would be lynched.

Over 1,200 whites were lynched by the KKK as well for not swearing fealty to the Democratic party.

So nice attempt to rewrite history there.

Our Founding Fathers were not perfect men, and our founding was not perfect, but it's the best thing going, and we can be thankful they managed to give us the means and methods to amend and improve and work towards the ideal.

It is a deep disappointment that their deeds did not live up to their noble declarations, and we're still suffering the consequences for their failures and the failures of everyone since.

But we're not done yet, and it ain't over till it's over!

We're discussing things on a philosophical level. That means we need to discuss abstract concepts and ideas. Strict definitions need not apply as We're discussing concepts not necessarily fully defined or realized by strict definitions. So yeah get on the level of the discussion, and don't try and handicap it with pickibg nits.
