Kneeling goes back to the civil rights movement, where protesters, including MLK, stood for something by marching...and kneeling.

It has historical significance.

It's strength in one's convictions, not weakness in subjugation.

But you knew that.

Is it subjugation to forcible make someone to take knee against their will.

Who's being forced?

No one communicates any reasons for it.

So it looks like expecting people to surrender.

Ever think your kids and Mrs might miss you or need you?

Someone puts a gun to your head, best to play along, do as they say, for the time being, until you have the chance to return the favor.

There is always one more thing you can do you see.

Unless it's a rape type scenario, in which case pull the trigger.

There is a time and a place for everything and remediation is best served cold...cool down keep your head stay alive so you can keep your Gold Coins alive with you.......make them safe if you can....never forget never forgive …. when the time is ripe...take 10x what is taken from you.

No one communicates any reason

You know that's not true.

The whole movement has communicated the reasons for kneeling, and it isn't entirely surrender, but also goes back to the civil rights movement, as stated, as a form of solidarity.

The other reason is, in a way, a sort of symbolic surrender: it shows how those who are compliant with police are still subject to assault, brutality, and arrest. It's actually ironically, protesting police brutality and people getting brutalized by police for no justifiable reason.

Pretty sad.

Not nearly as bad as willful ignorance, which seems to be the norm.

There are only two situations that I kneel for:
One is when I'm getting right with the Lord.
The other is when I'm "making nice" with my husband.
Everybody else can piss off!

Maybe you can talk to my wife.

I don't think that she knows there is that second option.

J/K she knows it exists. It's just not an option...

I found that woman and really appreciate it.

It's the little things you do for someone. If my wife asked me to kneel before her, I would. But we don't have to ask, just do.

I would not kneel before someone to ask for forgiveness for something I had no part in . I had no part in slavery. Can't help it my ancesters were Vikings that took over a Scottish town, eventually becoming assimilated into the society. We were called the dark ones , from which my surname is derived from.

Thank you once again for white-splaining to we ignorant minorities on ATS the true problems with racism in America.

Anyone that tells you to take a knee wants you subserviant.

I will take a knee but anyone with common sense knows it won''t come to that because they know better. If your waiting to respond when they ask you to take a knee its too late my friend.

I get that taking a knee together can show solidarity, but what I'm seeing is really dumb, mostly white people with some sort of mental illness bowing before people because they feel bad for something they have nothing to do with.

Personally, I think we'd all be better off if we had a "BBQ together for solidarity" where we all ate some damn good food, threw back a few brews and had a good time. IDK if its just me but that somehow seems like it would do more good than subjugating people.

You either stand for something or kneel for someone else.

Or for a principle.

Strength in humble solidarity.

If I feel like it, I will.

Haven't really felt like it.

Many people do, however, feel like it.
