OP, do you really think there is a conspiracy against the white man?

No I don't. Sorry if you misunderstood me.

I was having a debate with a liberal coworker and friend. I said that I honestly don't see systemic racism toward African-Americans happening around me.

Yeah.

That's what a lot of white people say when black folks and their ancestors have been subjected to 400+ years of racism and oppression, from slavery to civil rights, and with the current policing that unfairly targets African Americans.

It been systematic since this nation was founded, and is still present, and that's that problem.

A black man as president only made it worse as the racist rats became more vocal and loathesome, which resulted in Trump and his racist base.

Yes, Trump emboldens racists and white supremacists.

Yes they want to bring back the "old way."

Specific current examples of systemic racism please. Nobody can change the past no matter how bad we want to so no sense in dwelling on it. All I have power to do is say that I am sorry that your ancestors were oppressed in the past.

If you still don't get it, watch the Trevor Noah video.

I met a guy about 25 years ago that hated my guts instantly because I was Native American

Sorry you had to deal with that. Some people are just ignorant assholes.

It really didn't matter to me at all.

There are racists out there.

Just not the number of them that the left makes it out to be.

Unless they look at their practice of identity politics and look in a mirror...

No, a conspiracy would suggest that the agenda was being hidden.

Go on...how is the white man oppressed?

Tell in detail about the white man's oppression.

You probably shouldn't have brought up the "Divider In Chief" who set back racial tensions in America about 40 years.

Lol how was that tension under Obama? BLM, 99%ers, ANITFA, illegals put in cages and about 20 other pretty radical situations that were basically born under Obama.

How about Trump that has done more for minorities in 3 years than Obama in 8, not to mention Biden's 40 years of very anti-minority voting/legislating?

I just don't get it sometimes...

No I do not think there is oppression against black men in the USA except that which exists within his own mind.

I have tons of black neighbors making 6 or more figures. If they can do it why can't any other black person?

Do you think some African Americans are oppressed but my neighbors are not? They own their own businesses, are doctors, lawyers, work for fortune 100 companies where they are VP or up.

Know what? There's not a goddamned thing stopping some woe-is-me black person from re-patriating themselves back to Mother Africa.

Lame!! They don't do it because they'd be worse off. Black people have it made as perpetual victims under Democracy.

Give it a day or two and there may be a different thought process.

Institutional racism at its finest.

Any other question I can help you with?

Are you seriously going to say that white men have not become the poster child cause for all the countries problems?
Diversity quotas are designed to keep white men out.

I work in the employment industry and have been told directly that positions must be filled with female or minority candidates.. it’s a common occurrence in my business.

Longer jail sentences than a poor white guy for an equal crime with equal criminal history?

Yes, higher conviction rates too. So, why? I'm guessing it's economics, it's probably fair to say, per capita, the black community has higher poverty. They get public defenders, who pretty much work plea deals, in which, you're dammed if you do, and reeeeaaly dammed if you don't.

Thats a current example..lots more. You or I could try to understand it, but unless we are in that minority, I don't think we could.

Ah ok, I see where this is going...so black people have mental problems and not whites...

And white people are the minority population in the United States. There's more blacks than whites in the United States.

What am I missing? Can someone give me some real world examples of systematic racism that are happening in the USA in 2020?

The NBA, how can 13% of the population fill 75% of the NBA...got to be systematic racism...

Euroleague seems to have a more accurate representation.

Is there a better argument in favor of racism?

People ignore this.

When I was running my business I had two competitors in the area.

Both companies were bigger than I was, both had more employees, better equipment, etc.

But on bids to major oil companies it didn't matter... my bid always won, even if my bid was higher.

I eventually became friends with one of them and the white guy that owned it pointed out over a few (HAH!) beers that if I could just call him and tell him what I was bidding on then he wouldn't have to waste the effort putting a bid together.

I was a female owned minority business, after all...

We eventually worked out a strategy where I would bid in an area where my manpower was closer placed to the sites and he did the same.

So you are most certainly correct.

Sure, economics.
But many race related issues factor in to those economics.
Single mothers.
Bad schools.
Bad neighborhoods.
Victim culture.

It all adds up.

I agree with all!

ETA I think anyone can make it in this world, but probably harder for some.

LOL!

So you are not only a racist, but you can't do simple math.

This explains so much about you!!!

I'm sorry to be rude... let me help.

As of 2017 there were 234,370,202 white people in America.

As of 2017 there were 40,610,815 black people in America.

So to you... are there still more black people then white people in America?
