Oi ! Got that PPE yet ?

UK at June 1 st.

2 weeks ago we were ( or were we ? ) told of chaos at the PPE distribution warehouse , the army stepping in to help get it off shelves and out there because # was going wrong.

Then we were told ( there's an article on it too anyway ) , that doctors were being told to " shut up "
about PPE shortages . With HR departments and NHS managers going straight for the usual dispute tactics : hammer the complainant .

And then apparently today , Wales ' government are saying stocks of PPE at least , are 'stable but fragile ' .
So they mean , like a house of cards ? Built but prone to wind ? And while we're forcing the guinea pigs back to prison ? Err , rather , kids back to school ?

How are you going to get those PPE s?

Apparently Wales is now making ( some of) its own , forcing itself to contact compensate properly , whereas everything before came from overseas.

The English side of things made itself reliant on one company for its PPE stockpile , which then proceeded to store it an unfit warehouse ( asbestos ) and then got palmed off to a French owner!

Are we going to rely on all kinds of corporate snakes for reassurance about stuff forever ?
This company was caught with its pants down , just when we needed it , typical.
What happens when the other goods run out ? Luckily the coronavirus act has got all kinds of food security written into it , they can get those snakes and grill them until they spit the truth out . But , that's going to feed us if food gets scarce ? Nooo.

Made in Wales made in England made the in USA , that is the way forward , for most essential items . Getting us addicted to a few suppliers of food was a bad move , the fault iff greedy capitalists like the EU dictatorship. IT is time we look again at what else is going to run out that everyone globally wants at the same time , and how we re going to get around those problems , preferably before hand.

Unfortunately, as long as profit outweighs preparedness we will likely have to get used to scarcity in times of greatest need: stockpiles of any commodity, including essential ones, are just too “expensive” and “inefficient” to establish and maintain under the existing economic models.

Oh, we’ll hear a lot of “official” blathering about how we’ll “learn our lessons” prepare for the “next” time; might even see some efforts to the effect, relatively showy but essentially minor, and soon abandoned due to “budget constraints”.

In the end, unless we fundamentally change our worldview, and grow the f**k up, everything will soon be the same as it ever was,

Much to our detriment.

Yes , new economic models for a new paradigm .
Wales can do it ( apparently ) with PPE , but they've had to be forced into it. Make that situation the same with food supplies we all could b in big trouble in little china , perhaps that being something that might not even get sorted out .

That's what I thought to until I noticed every cop on TV/YouTube was decked out head-to-toe in cosplay stormtrooper riot gear.

We have endless money for that, I guess.
