You’re one of the rare Brits who appreciates America’s foreign policy, at least to some extent. The USA screws up all too often, but who else can restrain China, Russia, rogue states and jihadis? That said, the American people are increasingly dubious about helping other nations. We have a lot of problems at home and there seems to be little appreciation for our very expensive efforts.
