Jensen was appointed by Barr to review the Flynn case, and before that Sessions appointed him to the US Atty Advisory Committee-- that committee is basically federal prosecutors who look at policy and procedures and make recommendations to senior DOJ officials. So he is pretty well suited to reviewing the Flynn case...

You said it yourself, walking boots are not common. Someone mentioned black eyes are not either. Looking demonstrably different day to day is not common. We're trained to ignore such oddities and explain them away with "botox, or surgery, or makeup" explanations, but quite often we just don't look hard enough at how things compare to our day to day.
