In the article, Laurent and Evelyn claim that

James Strachey Barnes [was] a Scottish Rite Freemason

I have found zero evidence to support that claim.

Barnes was a pro-Fascist for whom Mussolini himself wrote the preface to a book Barnes wrote: 'The Universal Aspects of Fascism'. A word search of the document, using the term "mason", reveals a contradiction between what Laurent and Evelyn claim about his being a Freemason and Barnes' and Mussolini's own view of Freemasonry.

In the Preface, Mussolini laments about some of the obstacles facing the wider understanding of fascism in the world, one of them being the "furious" opposition to it by groups like the Freemasons: Mussolini hails Barnes' book as aiding to

Oddly enough, Act Blue donates a portion of those "unclaimed" funds to a certain Amy for America.
