It’s really difficult to determine what kind of impact social measures have had to reduce infection. One thing is for sure though, any time you give up a freedom, a right, time, money, or anything else of value to the government, you will never get it back. Decide carefully what you’re willing to give up because it will be permanent. If governments were wondering how long people would tolerate being confined, I think they have their answer.
This is why we have freely given up the pursuit of happiness, with no one allowed to pursue happiness outside the 4 walls of their government imposed "prisons"?
subjects under socialist/communist style dictatorships.

If those Governers are elected by the people it hard to have symphaty.
First step to a solution would be dont vote them into office.

To Blueman: I agree with AugustusMasonicus : People like you are part of the problem, 'It wasn't too bad', 'it's only temporary', 'I can still do some stuff'.

I agree fully but what are we to do about it? The vast majority of people feel they are doing the right thing by the medical system and the vulnerable by staying home and obeying. Those people feel it is their community duty to protect others and the governments are playing on those very sentiments that make us human. I have never felt so lost as now. I am not lacking compassion, despite having a skeptical nature, and reluctantly agreed to begin with... the medical system asking for help is not unreasonable but now with no end in sight and a vaccine that might as well be a carrot in front of a donkey... What do we do about it?

Well, go ahead and complain and write your senators. I just think it's silly to act like it's north korea or communist china.
We can still vote and openly disagree with the actions of governors. You can't do that in a communist dictatorship.
