Actually, this is what Trump said today:

“The governors need to do the right thing and allow these very important essential places of faith to open right now, this weekend,” Trump said during brief remarks at the White House that his press shop had touted as a briefing.

Trump took no questions, however, and left immediately after his brief statement.

“If they don't do it I will override the governors. America, we need more prayer, not less," he said.

The Hill

Just as a thought experiment, in the privacy of your own home ... I want you to imagine what you would say if any other PResident had claim he could "override the State Governors."

Not to mention that he's effectively establishing a state religion for those that pray, but that's beside the point.

If my governor said he was curtailing all free speech and not allowing it for anyone I would have praised Obama for saying he will override the governor and make free speech a reality again.

What about the mosques? The synagogues? The temples?

Or does the DOJ only act to protect the rights of Christian Americans?

Some people are asking.

It says "places of worship" so I guess synagogues, mosques, and anything non Christian doesn't count huh?

Maybe you ought to think this through a little deeper?

/Sarcasm

Hmmm ... you're right.

I'm sure that the Trump DOJ is interested in looking out for the rights of Muslims equally with Christians. Silly me.

Are you saying they would be excluded and not allowed to meet?

Did I say that?

No?

Then I didn't say it.

So.. the state cant prohibit honor killings if the murderers believe their religion requires it of them? Or a church could have a good old fashioned witch burning service?
What am I missing here... or better yet, what are you missing?

I went to a fundamentalist snake handler service in Texas once...once was enough...yikes!!
They played loud rock and roll and danced with the rattlers. The ritual was fascinating.

Liberty is doing anything you wish so long as it doesn't violate the Liberty of others.

So the state can prohibit murder because your religious Liberty ends when it begins violating my Liberty to life.

By the same token, the state can prohibit a public gathering during a pandemic ... police power.

What about private gatherings? Can they decide I have too many of my families at my house and demand some leave because I can only have 4 people in my house?

WIth you, I couild believe that.

With most here, I would not.

They would lose their f-ing minds ... and you know it.

But it's okay for Trump to sound like a tyrant ... as long as one agrees with him.

And that's BS.

Could they? Yes. Under the concept of police power, they could, as long as they declare that it's for the public good.

Would they? /shrug

If you notice, only a token few have been arrested in the last three months.

Yet, millions have complied.

If the governors were acting in what I believed was a Constitutional manner, I would be unhappy to hear Trump say that. I do not believe governors have the authority to suspend freedom of religion. Maybe it would go to the SC and they would win and I would be shocked. But in my opinion trump is the one who is upholding the freedoms of Americans.

If you want to ask whether I think trump would send the DOJ in specifically to help Muslims, probably not. But in looking out for religious freedoms Trump IS looking out for them still.

You're right. Currently, they can. Is it legal though? It's absolutely frightening I could invite my family into my home for their safety and the police state could force them off my PRIVATE property because Big Brother knows better than me.

There obviously is a cult. Unlike a healthy religion it's hidden in darkness like an open secret. Globalists are into satanism, eugenics, pink shirts, pedophilia, depopulation, demons, being in bed with china, organ harvesting, death, slavery and misery, devil's control over the world.
It seems too crazy to speak of openly for a politician but it must be exposed and named in order to take the power back. Churches are important headquarters in the spiritual battle. The enemy knows it. If your church doesnt open it's probably infiltrated and fake.

Yes.

It is absolutely frightening.

Think of all the things that could be justified under "the public welfare."

And yet, people are worried about going to church or having to wear a mask in Target.

THEY have now shown that they are willing to do this on an INTERNATIONAL scale.

I'm sure TPTB haven't gotten a taste for it though.

They have to provide alternatives though, technically.

Otherwise it would be a clear violation of the first A.

Did you forget to add mosques and synagogues?

Are they not in the spiritual battle too?

People of the Book and all?

Think about the words you used.

Does the President of the United States get to issue edicts?

No, he doesn't. He doesn't countermand any Governor of any State. See the Tenth Amendment.

Let's just say, I have no reason to believe that Trump cares about Muslims, Sikhs, or Jews. Even Catholics.

He's pandering to his Evangelical base, and it's as clear as day.

But, ORANGE MAN GUD ... so it's okay.

So you can worship your god, (NHS/government), but those that worship a different God are ignorant fools that can't comprehend science, thus they will (to the applause of the fascist promoting bigots) infect the whole congregation by the time the first pot-luck is served.
I love how the enlightened progressives are so predictably bigoted and hate filled.

He went further apparently (??).

link to article

He went out of his way to defend Muslims in another country!

The Trump administration put visa restrictions on Chinese officials Tuesday amid ongoing abuses of Muslim minorities in the Xinjiang region.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the measures target officials "who are believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, the detention and abuse of Uighurs, Kazakhs, or other members of Muslim minority groups" in the territory in northwest China.

Yes he may require something to gain from it but when it's profitable he'll help out.

Just like any politician - pander to and play all sides.

Doesn't sound like the progressives are the only ones that are hate-filled ... honestly.

2nd line.
