We don't have any church shootings. We did have a mosque shot up, but then we changed the law to protect against it happening again.

Funny thing about laws, they don't stop crimes, they just give a way to punish criminals after the fact unless they are regulatory, then they amount to a pre-crime punishment imposed on innocent people who have committed no crime. Regulatory laws punish the innocent for the acts of the guilty.

I highly doubt your country is immune from having any sort of crime happen at any time. A mosque is a church by the way. Hence, you had a church shooting for which innocent people were punished by imposing regulatory laws that only innocent people would obey.

How are such criminals to get multiple semi-automatic assault rifles if they cannot be purchased and they are no longer available to be stolen?

Seriously? Are you not aware that there are other gun manufacturers on the planet and illegal distribution happens all the time, in all countries except for yours. Right.

I know your debate has dragged this thread off topic because you are for the police-state and are applauding the church arsonists(s).

No, I don't support a police state and I don't support arsonists!

In fact, surely a police state, and an anarchic criminal action such as burning down a church, are diametric opposites in motivation and execution. The cognitive dissonance in your 'reasoning' is incredible.

This re-framing of what you say other people believe is a constant feature many posts that are on ATS and it is intellectually dishonest, not to mention usually irrational. And here you are, going all in!

But I have to say I am very glad you live in Kiwi land and are not American.

Your anti-Constitutional stance, your anti-American stance has been consistant.

Your support for the police-state has been constant.

Enjoy living on the other side of the planet.

And while I have never said this to anyone ever, please never come here.

Just don't.

Have a wonderful day, foreign person with foreign ideas.

I don't want to go there. It sounds like an awful place of partisan contention where one faction actually kills the other, and then cross accuses each other in their drive towards greater hatred, division, delusion and falsehood. There's not even a financial incentive to go there anymore.

And yet when we have tragedies, like this one, most of our people put their differences aside and work together to solve problems and help each other. It's been that way for almost 250 years. You see, we often wear our emotions on our sleeves. We play hard, we work hard, we love deeply and unfortunately some hate deeply too. But when our chips are down, we come together like no one else around the planet. We have our flaws and scars but there is no better place on this earth to live. The battles and division you see these days are mostly political in nature. We will get through this too, just like we have all other battles we've encountered.

Let me get this straight.

If you disobey authority and exercise your 1st Amendment rights, people are now torching your place to worship?

The KKK is back!

The KKK in common understanding, is the Klu Klux Klan. I'm fairly sure they never really went away, they just expanded their racist views to include others, like Mexicans and Chinese, and re-branded as the 'Alt-Right'.

And they’re around every corner, look out!!

lol what a douche

Seems you have an excuse for anyone you like, regardless of whether or not they're alt-right, racist, homophobic, etc...

You have all done a masterful job of derailing the entire thread. Congrats, ATS.

They rebranded themselves 'progressive' and created hypenated americanisms that are clearly RACIST. Push gun control that's also clearly racist.

So while true they never went away their cavemen ideology gets projected on to others and create bull crap political neologisms like ALT RIGHT because some how white supremacist, nazi, bigot no longer hold any real meaning.

Because it's been used so much no one buys their snip anymore.

Without doubt, the Alt-Right is racist, Nazi, bigoted, and white supremacist, as are the KKK. Neither group pushes gun control.

Gun control isn't a racial issue as far as I can see.

To the Alt-Right and the KKK, everyone else is a 'progressive' or a 'liberal'. When you look across the political spectrum from an extreme right wing perspective, everything else appears to be on the left.

Goody! Not only am I an alt-right guy, but I'm also a racist, bigot, KKK dude, Nazi, and white supremacist. Those damn terms are so watered down now that it's almost a compliment being called any of them.

Ah, moral relativism. The slow leak of ethical restraints and headed in the direction of criminality.

Lots of churches hold to moral absolute laws, like the famous 10 Commandments.

But Christianity is not about legalism. It is about us being forgiven, as we forgive others. About a fresh start in trying to be sinless once more.

Oh, that's what Christianity is about? Listening to you talk, I was under the impression that becoming a progressive was the only way to be forgiven and get a fresh start to be sinless once more.

My fault for jokingly bringing in the KKK. I wanted to associate the "Karen" movement with the age-old history of the KKK burning down churches.

This may sound callous, but it is my opinion that this was likely an arson performed by the building's owners. Think about it... very few tithes or donations pouring in the last few months, likely behind on the mortgage. This fire and the graffiti are obviously a ploy to get an insurance pay-out and a huge 'go-fund-me'. Many times in these situations, the 'victims' are actually the perpetrators.

Why would anyone target a particular church in Mississippi right now? Almost all of them are open for business. Just my opinion.

It is possible... but unlikely.

Thanks for your typical leftist tendency to projection though. Most sane people wouldn't think of doing such a thing.

No need to apologize. When it takes 10+ pages to explain something to one member, it's not you who is the problem or at fault.

THIS is the extent to which some will now go to enforce compliance with lockdown orders. Perhaps, the arsonist(s) were also making known their hatred of Christians, as well, but the message left behind seems this act was meant to be a warning to everyone that disobedience will NOT be tolerated.
Standing up for one's constitutional rights in the time of Covid-19...now has more consequences than fines or jail.
I fear we will see more of this behavior.

You're making sweeping judgments about people that are trying to avoid being infected despite elected officials best efforts to disregard science ... because one or two A-holes burned down a church?
