Representative Delay traveled to England with his family, aides, and lobbyists, paying for it mostly with money from an Indian Tribal and Gambling
company. Then Representative Delay was influential in helping to put down gaming legislation that was opposed by the company and Tribe. Compounding
all this, Reprsentative Delay stated that the trip was paid for by an unrelated group, however a lobbyist reports that he suggested the trip in the
first place and made the arrangements described above.

the trip was intended to give DeLay and his aides a chance to meet conservative British politicians and that her organization would have picked up the

Under House rules, lawmakers and their staffs are permitted to have travel expenses paid only for officially connected travel and only by
organizations directly connected to the trip. Also, the rules require lawmakers to accurately report who is paying for the trips. Payments by

Now, to be clear, Delay is claiming that this is all entirely untrue. However, its set off something of a flurry of investigations.
I feel that this is the worst sort of activity from politicians. Its illegal, immoral, and entirely unethical. Its a betrayal of the public's
trust.
Also, consider, the amerindian resevations, they're sovereign nations. I wonder if there is any sort of treasonable offense here, being bribed by
what amounts to a foreign power and then enacting legislation favourable to it. Tho, I caution, I don't know the status of this group
vis a
vis any reservations.
