My response to this roll call is more than symbolic.

My response to this roll call a second time was a factor of impatience and itchy trigger finger, as in the days of the wild west.

Redondo Beach here!

I live directly on the beach and have a panoramic view of the entire bay from the living room and balcony. Looking from south to north is an unobstructed view of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Marina Del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, the Hollywood Hills, Malibu and all the way up the coast to Point Magoo. Maybe 40-50 miles of coastline. The ocean waves break about 30 yards off my balcony. I love it!

There's nothing like sitting on the balcony in the early morning with a hot cup of coffee, watching a school of dolphin swim by, or occassionally a whale spouting as it swims by (saw 2 of them just a couple weeks ago), or watching the sea lions at play in the water (they're a hoot), or the light of a full moon reflecting off the ocean at night.

Besides all that, how many other places are there where you can be lazing on the beach and viewing snow covered mountains at the same time?

Yep, California's got it all. Can't think of anywhere I'd rather live.

San Bernadino here, but originally from the Palm Springs area.
May be heading to Orange County soon to work on a freeway construction project.
