Let's use ATS as the model. You're free to speak almost anything you want here but the rightwing ideology is prominent and can stifle the opposition with ridicule and name calling. Why should any other private forum be any different? You are free to join in or leave...freedom of choice, lead, follow or GTFO!!

What if ATS made rules that anything anti Trump is against their rules and will be deleted with predigest, and tto take that one step further, what if billions used ATSD as their common way to communicate with others.

Government censorship has no place on ATS. Let the marketplace decide what people want to listen to; or would you prefer the communistic model of complete government control, limited access to the www. and censorship.

I'm not sure if you call it censorship of anti-censorship, but that goes down that path I talked about in telling a private company that they can censor or not...

Save your money, rent time on a server and be the change you seek and let other companies run their business the way they think will be most profitable. That's the American way....

Or whine like a crybaby if you want to. You're in the right place....

Is too big a thing? We have big laws against monopolies in the economic sense, so should there be a anti speech monopoly laws too?

If only as many people here cared about the first amendment as much as they do about the second.

That's worth repeating...

And the laws against monopolies aren't followed either. In fact the bigger the corp, it's "too big to fail" with a sweet government bail out and preferential tax treatment... You ok with that?

I know, anything against the conservative right wing, deserves to be censored. Is that your stance?

The AM radio is completely dominated by the right wing...should they be censored because you know as well as I do, liberalism isn't welcome.

Social media should be afforded the same privileges as AM radio. I don't want to censor Alex Jones, Rush, Savage, Fox, Beck, Bill Bennit, Boortz, Hannity, anyone...

Leave the www. alone...or has the time come in America where dissenting opinion and thought won't be tolerated?

IDK is that what you read when you read my posts? What is AM? If AM is conservative it sounds like an underground approach to the big communication giants.

When you say conservative right wing, what does that mean? Is there conservative left wing, or are you saying far right wing?

Here is a real time event... Do you think Alex Jones should be censored as he was in not only online but finatically too. I have never listen to one of his shows, but how that went down gives me concerns. I was trying to remember his name and typed in crazy radio hosts and here is what comes up #1 out of 52 million hits, that too leads down the path of AI and algorithms that can control a lot of what people see on the net that is controlled by these same companies that limit speech.

It is some real tricky #.

Also remember what is liberal today can easily be conservative, or socialist or whatever tomorrow, so be careful what you think is OK.

But what we are talking about is private companies that say XYZ is not in our policies and so we will censor them what liberal has been censored as Jones has been?

NPR and other stations are still able to broadcast though. the right wing ones though are ENTERTAINING and easier to listen to henceforth their popularity. If NPR made money and was entertaining they would also dominate.

Yes it is some tricky sh!t. That's why I've made arrangements to bug out to more friendly climes as soon as the first hint of right wing Fascism rears it's ugly head...I don't think I'll have long to wait if trump follows thru with his shutting down of social media, and institute government corporate control. There's no place for me in that kind of environment. I'll watch America morph into totalitarian state from some tropical bar in the BWIs thank you very much.

That's precisely what I'm saying...try and keep up. Let the marketplace free enterprise determine what American culture/society/ looks like.

We get the best government money can buy anyway.

The Feds could start with anti-trust actions to break up the monopolies.

It was interesting for awhile until you decided to go strawman on me. Thanks anyway.

Trump can do a lot that is perfectly legal, for one he can strip them of their immunity from lawsuits. That will strip them of their power real quick and doesn't require any new regulations just the elimination of one.

I hope trump does try and control the social media forums. The backlash will be epic, even from republicans.

For a group of people that seem to "care" about discrimination, they have no problem discriminating against people that don't think EXACTLY like they do.
Yes, I know it's a private company, but the discrimination by a COMPANY is still discrimination.

Youtube is on the list of alleged "left wing censors" of all right wing sentiment.

Let's try a little experiment:

I went to Youtube and typed in "Trump is great." in the search box:

Here's a link to the results which is dozens of videos touting the great accomplishments of DJT: link.

Censorship? Nope.

Facebook.

I went to Google and typed "Facebook Trump is Great" in.

I received literally HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of results.

Facebook "Trump is great" on Google

And Google itself "Trump is Great"?

783,000,000 returns ...

Censorship?

Nah.

just sitting here losing my mind laughing at how different the world would be if there really were radical leftists in total control of all the social media, instead of the usual neoliberal oligarch crew who've actually been running the world outside the fevered ranting dreams of disenfranchised conservatives since at least the eighties

There really is not much a radical left in the United States. What is being framed "left wing" would be considered centre or even centre right to the rest of the world. The right wing in recent years have been working hard to move the Overton Window in regard to the left/right paradigm, painting centrists as radical leftists. Open your eyes people...
