President Donald Trump has vowed to break the “radical left’s” apparent control of social media platforms.

“The Radical Left is in total command & control of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google,” Trump tweeted on Saturday. “The Administration is working to remedy this illegal situation.

Thank God. Hopefully something comes of this. The blatant censorship, thought control, manipulation and violation of free speech online, on these sites and others, has been a growing problem for a long time.
I'm glad we still have websites like ATS where people aren't banned or have their posts made invisible to others because the owners don't agree with their beliefs or opinions.

I want to see results!

So far nothing has been done, and perhaps only 2 or 3 R's have stood up against political censorship, sooooooooooo I will be waiting and watching.

What are we going to do about it? Nationalize private companies and steal private property and capital from successful businesses? Over a bunch of videos shared by people too dumb to realize what they are watching is from 2009?

Free-dumb!

Don't you see the irony of trump utilizing censorship, thought control, manipulation of corporate systems, and violation of free speech of those he disagrees with.

And how can trump criticize twitter when he uses it for propaganda purposes touting his ideas.

Is only right wing ideology allowed info? The US is Looking more like communist China and North Korea every day.

Should I now expect those on the right to come out and defend private enterprise against government overreach like they used to?

'You can't tell me to back a cake!... but you can tell me what to say!!'

Say it altogether now... "We want regulation! We demand censorship!"

We are living in the upside down.

What is sad about this is that it demonstrates just how irrelevant Trump has become. He doesnt really understand the extent to which this CCP virus event has disrupted everything; he doesnt understand the fact of the reset. Its no longer even about social media; its about the triumph of technocracy

Just strip them of their unfettered ability to steal people's private data and the rest will take care of itself.

I'm a Trump supporter, and have been since he and Melania strolled down that escalator.

I also realize both the MSM, as well as all the social media giants are absurdly bias.

I do worry about that "slippery slope" here though. Though they have an apparent monopoly at the moment, they are private companies that do not control basic necessities. To suppress their freedom to do business as they see fit goes against my basic principles of a free society.

I certainly don't like the situation at all, I just don't see a nonhypcritical solution, other than capitalist competition.

Star for the idea, but I'm not naive enough to think that a majority of ppl will not willingly trade their incredibly dull information for the free services of Giggle, Facebook, Tweeter, etc.

Most ppl, and certainly a vast majority of those 30 and under don't know, and don't care enough about politics, the Constitution, or the danger to the republic to have a valid opinion. They just take what the talking heads spew out, while living in their own particular safe space echo chamber.

There are a multitude of reasons this has happened. From "latch key" parenting, to the infiltration/breakdown of our education system.

Funny how the Trump supporters are okay with an attack against free speech as long as it is speech they dont like.

The US has shifted far to the right. What would normally be considered centrists views are now considered the left.

This is setting a dangerous precedent.

I was hopeful that we would elect a decent president in 2020, however the DNC choose a lame duck. 4 more years of Trump will be devasting to the Constitution.

Funny how Republicans cry about voter fraud, when it's Republican who usually commit it, they cry about free speech but want to censor 'leftist' views, the say liberals want to take away liberty yet again it is consevatives who approve of authoritarian rules....

The term 'useful idiot' applies to most of the Trump crowd.

They need to create a new platform that competes with the established ones. It should have all the features people want and the ability to transfer all your other accounts. Provide grants, loans and tax incentives, as long as it protects privacy and the first amendment as well as a having a reasonable user policy to prevent abusive and illegal content. Make it open source and grassroots if possible. And above all, keep government control and access out of the picture.

A realize that this is a pipe dream.

They need to take both wings and stick them up their you-know-whats.
Facebook is the wetdream of a controlling gov.
Christ, they opened it up when congress shut down the darpa experiment known as Lifelog.

They made it appear private. It looks like the entire silicone valley is some bs shill techno spy trap hiding under fake private ownership.

HELL NO.

The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.

If people are too stupid to understand they are being led down a Socialist path, they deserve what they get.

Be happy with your Keepers. Just leave the rest of us out of it.

Oh...BTW...
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

It's a Wonderful Life

On May 26, 1947, the Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a memo stating, "With regard to the picture 'It's a Wonderful Life', [redacted] stated in substance that the film represented rather obvious attempts to discredit bankers by casting Lionel Barrymore as a 'scrooge-type' so that he would be the most hated man in the picture. This, according to these sources, is a common trick used by Communists. [In] addition, [redacted] stated that, in his opinion, this picture deliberately maligned the upper class, attempting to show the people who had money were mean and despicable characters.
