Regardless of the article the way the USA's system of reporting COVID-19 is nothing but a money maker for the hospitals as they are paid for every listed COVID-19 patient. $39,000 if they use a ventilator even for a short time. Strong incentive to label everyone COVID-19

True. A larger number simply causes more fear, generates more income, and they know that and abuse it. It's not surprising to see that most people who died were old and had other health issues. It's confirmed now that the COVID-19 death toll is less than what we're shown and yet the other side pushes for 'a new normal' and wants to extend the lockdown.

What the "other side" wants is the goal of socialism for true socialism can not exist without a pliant and rigidly controlled population. This is a first step, an opportunity that must not be wasted. A popular phrase for the liberal/progressive/Democratic Party crowd.

They also want to destroy the US economy to make it equal to the rest of the world
They hate the US so much and feel it is so unfair, unjust and downright evil,
that they want to destroy it so they can rebuild it from the ground up,
to be equally poor with the rest
of the world, to create true equality.

Newsome, Whitmer, Bashear, Murphy, Cuomo and other Dem Governors,
know that together they can destroy the economy
which they feel will destroy Trump and the 66+ million US citizens
who voted for Trump so they can subdue through isolation and take over the nation.
They will do this through their anti-liberty and anti-humanitarian orders for the
populace to isolate from one another and thus stop economic activity.

The Democratic Party goal is to enact a new order of socialism where the elite political class
rule the populace with an iron thumb, out of compassion, fairness and a sense
of justice. That is how all socialist/communist countries work these days.
It is very enticing to the elite political class who get to have money and power
and the freedom to live as they wish, while keeping the populace equally
poor and miserable for their own good of course and for justice and equality.

And don't forget Section 8 and WIC programs in each state which help pay for rent and food for the poor and single parent families.

The problems are exactly as you described, but I would add that the problems with our safety net are (In no particular order):

1. The situations covered by the safety nets are in some cases too narrow, i.e. If you are self-employed and something happens whereby you cannot work, you can't get an unemployment check. In fact there are SO MANY cases where you can't get an unemployment check, it's ridiculously unfair. THOSE are the people who are currently desperate in the US. I have worked a good portion of my life, but I have always been an independent contractor. I don't qualify for an unemployment check. If I didn't have other resources I would be starving right now. IMO this is the main problem.

2. If you are actually working but cannot afford child care, there's usually no assistance to help you STAY employed by subsidizing child care for single parents. ... Is there? Maybe I'm wrong about this?

3. Medical insurance of all kinds often doesn't include vision and dental, as though your eyes and teeth aren't critical to your health. So if you need this kind of medical care you have to pay out-of-pocket. READ: a lot of people can't get their teeth tended to beyond cleanings twice a year.

4. There's an ENORMOUS amount of red tape to apply for and receive any of these benefits. At the moment, if you weren't ALREADY on one of these plans, good luck to you! There's a huge backlog of new cases and most field offices are closed to the public, so all you can do is apply online and pray. No one answers the phones even in good times, let alone right now.

5. These social resources aren't necessarily reserved for citizens. This means that in some border states, there are less resources for all who need them because social services for the huge numbers of illegal immigrants in border states are spread too thin. In the USA, border states which offer social services to illegal immigrants are expected to pay for these services from the state taxes. Even though it's the responsibility of the federal government to protect our border, the federal government doesn't help border states pay for food and housing for illegal immigrants who make it across.

6. There is no way to forcibly house non-criminal mentally ill who don't want to be housed. The laws permitting them to be held against their will for treatment have been taken off the books, largely because of notorious abuse which occurred at such treatment centers. And, of course, the cost.

I'm sure there are other problems I'm not thinking of.

----

I'm NPP (No Party Preference) but I consider myself a Libertarian/conservative. Most of my life I was a Republican but I left the Republican party in 2016 after the primary election. I loathe the progressive globalist agenda so I will never vote for a democrat. When I take tests and quizzes related to my political leanings, my personal views lean more toward a centrist approach. The above observations are just that: observations. I can see these problems but I don't know what the solutions are.

Oh, no, I know our social safety net is all or nothing. You're either all on the dole or all off it. It's designed to keep you trapped once you get on it. They want you dependent not actually trying to get independent.

Try to work and make the mistake of making a few too many pennies, and you lose thousands in support from the "safety" net. It's ridiculous. It's not designed to phase out over time and your ability to support yourself.

Additionally, that money is all managed for you, so while you are being subsidized, you learn nothing about actually having to manage your own funds and make responsible money choices. So if you ever do get independent, the odds are that you have no idea what it's like to save money for rent, utilities, etc., so you end up right back where you were.

We can't ignore the crazy greedy people in this world spreading fear so they can gain prestige or wealth. How many people spreading fear own piles of stocks in companies that just got a boost of stock value from this virus. I would think that the people running CNN and a few other media outlets should have their investments looked at. They have the perfect advantage of driving up stock prices of their and their friends portfolios by shifting the fears in society. I think they should be investigated to check out what stocks and when their purchases were made, remember they have insiders in the Capitol, they get advanced notification of what they will soon be releasing in their news. One day of before hand knowledge is all they would need to profit greatly from their exploitation of the news.

Interesting, pretty much all of the rest of the western world bar the americas have implemented some blend of socialism and capitalism and are faring far better than the U.S in this debacle.

Factually wrong. The US is doing better than a number of European countries that have socialized medicine when it comes to deaths per capita.

Anyone citing the outright deaths--which don't account for differences in population size--is purposefully misleading people and trying to push a false narrative.

No one can be denied life saving medical care because they don't have insurance or cannot pay.

Unlike in countries with socialized medicine - like India - where 'doctors' let my new-born son die, because they did not tell me they were withholding his life saving surgery because the bastards had not received full payment yet.

So very sorry to hear that. Nobody (well...maybe some) should ever have to live through that experience.

I lost my wife in 2018 here in the US. She had numerous issues related to staph infections but while hospitalized, became dependent on opiods. The staff knew this. The doctors knew this. Their only job was to get her discharged under the guise of "we'll treat those conditions after she's out". My begging and pleading to at least give her placebos fell on deaf ears. If a patient says they're in pain, they HAVE to give them medicine. End of story.

She passed away 20 minutes after signing the discharge papers, as they were getting her dressed to leave.

I F'ing HATE the healthcare system we've allowed to evolve.

I am truly sorry for your loss. You are right, things like t hat should never happen. I know this doesn't bring you any comfort, but Staph infections are easily treated with high dose IV vitamin C. The fact that they didn't use it for your wife is why I keep saying that these bastards that know this, and do nothing, are guilty of crimes against humanity for letting your wife and millions of others, die needlessly.

Full Title is : Should Be a Headline: German Autopsy Study Finds EVERY Coronavirus Victim had Previous Illness — All Had Cancer, Lung Disease, Were Heavy Smokers or Morbidly Obese

Short article but if totally true then, "What is one to think ?"

The Gateway Pundit was first to report back on March 16, 2020, that the WHO was pushing a completely inaccurate coronavirus mortality rate to frighten the masses.

The WHO Director, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, estimated on March 3, 2020 that the coronavirus mortality rate was 3.4% This was a completely inaccurate number that caused a global panic.

Now a new study from Germany found that every single death was someone who had cancer, lung disease, was a heavy smoker or morbidly obese.

90% of Americans have a pre-existing condition. Most of these folks were no where close to dying from their pre-existing condition.

Incorrect. There are safety nets, I currently am able to collect unemployment. I challenge the narrative because of the constant twisting of truth and weaponizing of data to enact specific outcomes. I prefer to have my own employment and to make my own choices regarding the risk to myself and others. The narrative is so heavily politicized in America. This is the most powerful tool they have had to make power grabs and target political opponents since McCarthyism.

Americans are truly upset by their loss of freedoms. Seems like Europeans don’t hold that in as high regard.

Same for Chicago. 85% of deaths were high-risk.

Only 260 out of 1 million have died of Covid-19 since February.

The agenda being shoved down everyone's throats will be overcome by reality.

Which is rather strange considering a lot of them have experienced loss of freedom in the past 100 years. That must not be being taught in history class over there.

This data is extremely telling. Let that sink in all you doom and gloomers who insist nothing else matters but keeping ourselves locked inside and we should not be allowed to work.

Literally all deaths with COv-19 had an additional life threatening condition. The COv-19 virus did not kill a single healthy individual. WHO is affected is hugely important (to borrow a term from you know who)

Lol, like the women’s right movements and civil rights movements? Huge loss of freedoms there... oh wait.

You cannot deny historically any challenge to Americans freedoms aren’t taken laying down. While Europe talks # and gets America to fight all its battles for them. Spineless.

Hey big boy, have you been wearing your mask outside of the house or does your governor mandate you wear one inside the family home.
