Make your cardiologist listen.. or get another one. This issue can actually be managed now.. many ways. You have to get it started NOW because you dont want to damage the heart muscle and etc any more than it is. Chinese viruses or not.. call your cardiologist on Monday adn tell them to take it serious or be fired.

Sounds jerky.. but Ive given ultimatums to many Drs.. they work for me and arent immune to having to actually do their job.

Youre a good guy. Youre the kind of guy Id love to have in my real life. Thats not a super common thing. I cant even tell you what it is.. but youre just a good guy and you have more work to do. You cant do your job if youre dead.

This isn’t allowed. Not a possibility.

You and yours will FLOURISH!

It has been wished and bestowed on you by EVERY ATS member.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

You aren't allowed to kick the bucket. No if ands or buts. There will be oats all over the house.

I get a weird heartbeat...double hits some times...when I eat certain foods but have not narrowed it down yet.

So weird FCD; I have had the same thing all day. I am finally feeling better now at this late hour. I hope you are as well. Please seek medical attention if not. Much love to you and your wife. Hope to hear good news from you tomorrow. 🙂

The year was 1983, or 1986, I don’t remember anymore, but I’ll never forget that day. My mom was told her lungs were black and she didn’t have much time. Know what she did? She stopped going to the Dr.

Old girl is still mean as a rattlesnake and feisty as ever. I’m pretty sure she will outlive us all. She still smokes 2+ packs of cigarettes a day and can out drink any man with Budweiser. I recently told her that Budweiser is probably the worst beer there is, and she was legit shocked. Btw not saying don’t see your dr, just saying no one know when it’s time...

I hope you feel better soon. Not here to give medical advice but maybe look into magnesium deficiency. See your doctor if you feel the need, sometimes if just for reassurance.

Btw I know a lot of people have mentioned magnesium, I think it is very very important to take the right kind. I use the ancient flakes in a bath. There is a whole gigantic group called magnesium advocacy group on fb, some very eye opening stuff there.

Being how you live out yonder far from civilization do you have an AED handy? It might be something to look into.

Do you have insurance? If so talk to your cardiologist. A life long friend has the same issue, they implanted a small defibrillator (not a pacemaker) in her shoulder which gives her a jolt when her heartbeat gets too whacky. She feels like she got hit by a freight train for a day or so after but in the over 25 years she's had it it has only jolted her 3 times- and she's still alive living a regular life.

Well, thanks, but that's not how it work

s out here.

We're pretty far out. Like really far out.

I never thought it would be any different, not for me, not for anyone.

Just a little hard tonight. When you feel that "fish" thumping around in your chest, and you get the head-rush and the sweats...it's the beginning of the end.

There's still animals to feed, and things to do.

Just another day.

If your wife was feeling like this, would you take her to the hospital? If you die, can she do all the things you do, along with all the things she does? Pack up to pride sir, it's not time for all that.

Just a quick update...

Feeling much better today. Normal rhythm , but bit slow (58 bpm - monitor wants 60+). Feel pretty good, but also like I got ran over by a truck yesterday. Very lethargic and tired.

Just taking it easy this morning, and reading some ATS.

Thanks for all the nice thoughts and wishes. I sincerely do appreciate them! That kind of stuff scares me, and I'm not scared of much.

Regarding the cardiologist, yes, I have gone to get tested twice now (once at Colorado's premier cardiology center and the other at one of Colorado's premier cardiology hospitals which involved an overnight stay), and both times, after running bunches of tests, blood tests, nuclear stress tests, physical stress tests, scans, everything, and they say nothing is wrong. And the entire time they just relentlessly NAG on me about losing 20 lbs, eating kale (which I thoroughly HATE) every day, and nothing else, for the rest of my frigging life, forgoing anything fun and instead doing cardio for 3 hours any time I even 'think' about doing something fun (just to punish myself for even "thinking" about something fun). So yes, I have been to see them...and they suck!

Their answer to any objection is always the same..."Well, whatever, the alternative is you could always just go ahead and DIE!" Gee, thanks! Don't drink, don't smoke, become a vegan, don't eat red meat, curse anything which even remotely tastes good or sounds fun, go running (all day long), become a nun, eat tofu...and repent, dammit! I'm just waiting for them to tell me to do more laundry, pick up my socks and rub their feet! Those guys are about as fun as getting thrown into a barrel with 15 clones of my ex-wife and a bunch of pissed off cats! And, even that sounds like a vacation in comparison!

Yet, I will still wind up going and seeing them again, and subject myself to more RAGGING. But I'm venting (and raising my BP).

Anyway, thank you for the concern. It is genuinely appreciated!

FCD

Yeah.. They recently diagnosed me with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, called it "benign" and told me to come back for more blood tests in six months.

They call it a tentative diagnosis, but since Im not experiencing nerve pain.. Its totally fine. I would opine that if Im not experiencing literally the main symptom.. along with other key markers.. Perhaps the diagnosis is wrong. But, the docs used it to explain it all away as "nothing to worry about."

Basically saying "we arent sure about the diagnosis, but since the symptoms dont really fit, we think it means youre fine and the EKG, D Dimer, etc. looked normal.. Therefore youre fine!"

Gotta love it eh?

Its happened multiple times in my life with pretty damn severe issues. Im starting to look at doctors more as a source of things like blood tests, imaging, etc. but not much else. Ill look at the results myself, or bring them to a friend (Im lucky there) and come up with my own courses of action.

Magnesium is absolutely one of the key components in my personal treatment.

Id just expand and say that finding the right kind for the individual in question is the key. Try out different forms both long and short term.

What helps me most, by orders of magnitude is the hydrogen/magnesium tabs ya plop in water. Hydrogen is incredibly interesting itself too. Seems to be completely overlooked by many, and the research is fascinating.

Are you talking about Magnesium Hydroxide, or something different?

If a fat, old, chain-smoking, meat-eating, hard-drinking, balding, sarcastic, obnoxious, often retarded, man like me can keep going, then you should as well.

Keep well.

These things.

I cut them in half and use 8oz of water though. Ive tried a few other ways to get both hydrogen rich "stuff" and magnesium, but this form is the most effective for me.

Ive yet to try going for the chemical reaction myself, but I might give that a go at some point too.

If it's nothing wrong with the heart it seems your problem is psyschological in nature.
Those are all symptoms of severe anxiety and you did mention that.
Maybe consult some good psychiatrist and start from there..
Best wishes..

Glad to see that you made it through the night, and that you are feeling a bit better.

I, too, have had my share of heart issues (6 way bypass in 2013), and have relatives (by marriage) who have had mitral valve replacement in one case, and idiopathic tachycardia in another.

It’s one thing to face an external fear, the degree of separation makes it somehow easier to “stand your ground”. But when it is your own body that is seemingly betraying you, where then is that solid ground from which you can fight?

It is good that you are consulting with medical experts about your health. Even if they do not appear to be up to speed in your case. Get a second, or even a third opinion, if you even suspect that something is amiss.

In my case, and those of my family, we were lucky to have had excellent medical assets available, and our outcomes have been superb (personally, I haven’t felt this good in forty years).

My one complaint, if I were to have any, would be that the person in charge of “hospital food” has not been convicted of crimes against humanity!

As mentioned previously in the thread, an implanted defibrillator might be your ticket, before you “punch your ticket”.

Then again, maybe all you might need is a bit of laser ablation (minimally invasive) to knock out the unruly parts of your heart muscle.

Either way, please do your best to stick around a bit longer, your recipes are pure “food porn”, and much appreciated during this lockdown.

Besides, things are just getting interesting, it’d be a shame to leave now!
