While not a Pagan I love the May Day festivities! My maiden name is an alternative spelling of Maia (although some branches of the family still spell it that way). Years ago while researching the roots of our family name I learned that it was the surname given to those born to the May Queen after the May Day celebrations (apparently "sleeping" with the May Queen was a big thing back then). The children were believed to be magical and were adored and raised by the entire village. It could explain why pretty much everyone in the family is a big old horndog! lol!

It was sarcasm...I know it doesn't translate digitally well.

I have been to Burning Man and received a phd in debauchery. I did my undergrad & MA work at Rainbow gatherings.

I actually did take note of the sarcasm, not so difficult when you don't just assume that everyone is a jackass like many so often do.

Funny you mention Rainbow gatherings! One of my cousins (and his now wife) were Rainbow People for many years. They are now Portlandiers. I think Portland is where older Rainbow People go to retire.
