Tabloids, entertaining the lowest common denominator.

Whats interesting is some of the islands around where the Nimitz encounters took place, are home to such tests of black projects and other experimental platforms & UAS and all the rest - there are even flight plans and recorded flights from Area 51 to those exact locations, which is a JANET flight with the tail number N20RA- but they are seemingly "minor details" that is of no interest to anyone that has already decided what some blobs on screens are...

There was even an old ATS member who was stationed on those islands in that same time period who has also noted these "tests" of platforms that due to agreements he couldn't speak of; the user hasn't logged in years and his posts about them were circa 2007.

Why do people lose their minds of the videos - what else "got out" that most seemingly forgot about - it was all laid out by TFT and COMETA but people like "shiny things" huh!

It will be interesting to see what Gough states regarding AATIP - although I don't think its hard to imagine / guess that will be to distance themselves from the claims of certain individuals that were throwing pens in their ceiling of their office.

Well, didn't I recently finish a series of books collectively called Breakers (Edward W. Robertson) in which an alien invasion was prefaced by a plague...just to soften up us locals.

Screw it,...It's a PowerPoint people - where is the PowerPoint...forget the crappy videos, they don't show anything. The DoD have even stated as such in thier most recent "release" of the videos - they show nothing that would be deemed to be classified - so who cares.

But where oh where are those slides that depict sonic, sonar data, location data (albeit fake names are used) and weirdly encoded dates - that the original uploader's claimed to have seen and also to have in their possession in the original thread regarding the FLIR1 video!

Maybe those same slides are the same slides that NAVAIR stated they had on file (not confirmation they were the same btw) were not just "Secret" but "Top Secret" - translating to "A grave danger to national security if released".

The Navy and other places, they don't care about these crappy videos - they want their PowerPoint back! It's floating around somewhere out there - like a large juicy fly buzzing along - if only there was some form of flypaper for it to get stuck too...

In response to a recent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, a spokesperson from the Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) confirmed that the agency possesses several top-secret documents and at least one classified video pertaining to the 2004 UFO encounter, Vice reported.

According to the ONI spokesperson, these documents were either labeled "SECRET" or "TOP SECRET" by the agencies that provided them, and that sharing the information with the public "would cause exceptionally grave damage to the National Security of the United States."

These top-secret files included several "briefing slides" about the incident, provided to the ONI by an unnamed agency. (Because ONI officials did not classify the slides personally, they are unable to declassify them, the spokesperson added).

So.....where did the slides about the same incident that TFT and Cometa claim to have in their possession go?

DOD is releasing the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos. The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as "unidentified."

This statement implies that there is nothing more to the videos than depicting unidentified aerial phenomena.

After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.

This statement implies:
1 There are military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.
2 They are investigated.
3 A review was done whether the release of these videos would negatively affect these investigations.
4 Which means that these videos are somehow related to military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.

This to me seems to exclude any secret US technology.

Also, no "secret government project" that was later uncovered has ever violated (skirted?) the laws of physics.

So, unless these things are literally holograms that somehow spoof a physical object to ground and air tracking and detection systems, the notion that these are "secret black projects" is laughable on its face.

The very fact that these craft have been busy in our skies for so very long, and that the military feels free to admit that
they don't know what it is, you could hold an Alien Theory and be credible. In fact, the majority of the evidence points in that direction.

They are UFOs

That's not something we'd ever expect to upgrade to, given our apparently flawed understanding of sciences/physics.

It's not like the F15 to the F22, or the B2 toB21. It's not a generational upgrade. It's something entirely different.

Given the size of the universe, aliens are not an extraordinary claim or belief. It's more sensible that it's an ET technological article than to believe some other country suddenly leapfrogged us.

It's goofy and arrogant to think this whole universe exists for little old us, and that we know all there is to know about the laws of reality.

As you say, TPTB couldn't give a toss about the videos (the double-bill from Jan 2015 even less so), but there is a sensitive document (with material perhaps unrelated to Nov 2004) floating around out there since early 2007, and even after thirteen years I imagine such causes for concern are never closed. In fact, the NYT in late-2017 simply served to give the authorities a kick up the bum to resume the search with greater earnest.

Explain the mechanism by which an aircraft can move forward and then rotate on its axis while still riding the same line in space? No loss of alt, no change in speed, etc.

You're mistaken, its aliens. Saying that a mere human developed this technology is ignorant of the facts. Lets face it, we're the most advanced country on Earth and nobody leap frogged us.

This isn't the next generation of anything. Given the laws of physics (Newtons law of motion and thermodynamics) this is a capability we'd *never* expect to develop no matter how much time has passed

They use the word historical, referring to the videos being from a decade-and-a-half ago.

“of or concerning history; concerning past events belonging to the past, not the present.”

...not historic:

“famous or important in history, or potentially so”

Just wanted to point that out because there seemed to be a little confusion about the term. The government is not saying the videos are of great significance to history.
