Just saw the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds show; they flew directly over our house on their way to one of New Yorks major Covid-19 hospitals, which is up the road.

The teams met up with four KC-10s over the New York area before heading back out of the area. The Blue Angels head to Nashville and the midwest next, and the Thunderbirds will head back to Nellis before heading to their next flyovers.

That's a long haul for the T-Birds. They could have gone to Dayton Ohio.

They're staging all the flights from their home stations to reduce risk of contamination.

It was over and it was awesome to see and hear. =)
Over the past few days it's been very overcast in the Philly/Surrounding NJ areas but today is an almost perfectly blue sky.
While I didn't get a chance to snap any good pics just hearing the rumble was good enough.

The article below has some really good pictures showing the flight groups.

A question for Zap or other airforce types, is that trailing plane you see in a few of the shots responsible for general overwatch or does it serve a different purpose being that far back from the main group?

It helps to ensure all the aircraft maintain separation and position, and takes pictures and video of the formation over various locations. They send the two seaters behind the formation, so the guy in the back seat takes pics.

Chicago is tomorrow, but I haven’t been able to find any maps or times. Can anyone post or direct me to the info?
Thanks.

They haven't released them yet. I'll update as soon as I see any new information drop.

They just postponed the Detroit portion of tomorrow, and the weather doesn't look good for Chicago either, so expect to see it get postponed.

The RCAF Snowbirds are starting a Canadian tour.

They may not publish route maps ahead of time going forward. There were a lot of gatherings in NYC to see them flying over, and there was a lot of social media chatter from people in the Detroit area about the best place to see them. So they may post dates but not routes.

The B-52 flyover of New Orleans was incredibly realistic. They even bombed a driveway with a CSD indirection door off an engine.

The 28th Bomb Wing from Ellsworth is performing a flyover with B-1s this afternoon.

**off topic**
But if anyone in the Las Vegas area is interested, there is an AN-124 coming from Dulles international airport due at 4:50pm Vegas time.
And if you're in Montreal, there's an AN-225 from Anchorage Alaska due to land at 8:40pm.
That's is all.
