Yeah yeah, move it to the Rant forum...I know the routine. Go ahead. I'll wait.

This one hits a soft spot for me, I must admit. Please bear with me while I attempt to articulate my thoughts on this. (btw I got a laptop, so, I could start making more threads around here, who knows?)

I dated a girl once, who came from the small town of Ocean Shores, WA. Although she was Captain of her cheerleading squad in high school and accordingly very gorgeous and talented, she had a very deep seeded shyness that often showed itself in her very timid behavior.

One of the most obvious ways that she was different that most of you, not having been there, could probably understand easily, was how she would behave in a drive thru of a fast food place. She would never ask for any changes to be made to her order. If she didn't want pickles on her burger she would just order the burger as is, and remove them herself.

She used to get really anxious when I would want to ask for a Ranch dip. I used to dip my bacon & tomato laden burgers in ranch. Not for every bite...but I liked having it on hand, especially Jack In The Box's "Buttermilk House Sauce". But, I think the fact that I wasnt ordering nuggets or anything that would normally come with a ranch dip is what made her anxiety rise. We were asking these people to go out of their way for us, and that made her very uncomfortable.

And God forbid if they should mess up our order... we just took what they gave us and were happy with it. Returning it would be correcting them and telling them that they did something wrong. A confrontation like that would be out of the question for her. After all, this was a Big Important corporation. They have lots of important business to do. Seriously, she remembered as a child having to drive a half hour to go to a McDonalds and when they got one IN Ocean Shores, that was a Huge deal for everyone.

After a while I discovered that she grew up in a home with a father who had some serious issues with insecurity, and her older brother got it a lot worse, but, both parents had a habit of insulting eachother And the kids over any mistakes they made.

So, the way to avoid being called a "dumbass" or being mocked as being retarded, was to simply avoid a situation where your lack of knowledge becomes known. It was common in their house to pretend you "already knew" something which you just now were becoming aware of. Because only dumb people don't know things.

Even asking a question, although sometimes unavoidable, was not always safe. "What? You seriously didnt know that?!"

The older brother became a meth addicted criminal. Still is. The daughter, she met me. I was a little less than 3 years older than her. Through patience, and hard work, I managed to help her grow as a person. All the things she was too afraid to do, she does them now with no problem. Several times she would take me aside and thank me, sometimes with tears in her eyes, for "not making me feel stupid" for asking a question or for not knowing something. Now she is halfway through college and becoming a counselor, to help other people with their issues. She gives me credit for showing her another way to look at things.

So, it does indeed strike a deep nerve with me when I see people ridiculing President Trump for asking a question.

While I'm sure Trump can take it just fine, what message are we sending to the younger generations when we completely blow up at someone for asking a question and calling them idiot and stupid over and over again?

I've seen people here at ATS who I thought knew better, jump in and join the lynching.

How COULD you??

Even if we disagreed, I still thought you all decent lads. When times get tough (and it's getting tough for anti Trumpers with repeated failed coups and no prospects AT ALL for 2020) I guess people show their true colors.

Some people are really good at putting on a proper display of what a decent person looks like. But catch them at the right moment, dangle the right piece of fruit, and watch them devolve to savagery and abandon their principles. Its nauseating. But at the same time it just tempers my resolve...

This. Is. Not. Just. Another. 4. Year. Election.

This...

...is a battle between Good and Evil.

This...

...is War.

Knowing what we are up against... we CANNOT

MUST not

Allow them to win, or even to take Any more ground.

THIS is the point beyond which they must not advance. HOLD! YOUR! GROUND! We are ALMOST THERE!!!!

And above all, maintain your morals and principles. Look how much the other side has sacrificed... their image of love and tolerance, their mantle of protecting children, their reputation for doing what's right and so much more... gone.

And for what? Have they really gained anything for this? Did they gain anything for the Nick Sandmann fiasco? Did they gain anything by having Antifa batter some MAGAs? Did their constant lies make ANY difference at all?

No. In fact it cost them everything.

And it's good that evil is losing, but the Concept of a Left Wing is not "evil"... I envision a future where both sides work together and dont see their goals as separate, but simply have different ways of achieving them and they put their heads together and figure out what's best for the people.

It's easy, just ignore anyone talking division. Anyone dividing us into groups of victims and persecutors, is not helping. Whether you are white, black, Muslim, Christian, gay, straight, you need food, you need shelter, you need a way to support yourself financially.

These are the things we should focus on. Everything else is a distraction. Anything that asks you to give up your principles is a lie. Anything that says "you can be a pos, and it's okay because its Trump supporters or Trump haters who you are hurting" is a lie.

So that is the final thought I want to leave you with:

WE...

are

NOT
THEM!!!!!

⚡KA-BOOM!⚡

Let this truth spread like a Thunder Bolt of GOD Himself reverberating throughout the lands!!!

What Trump said was dumb af.

And I don't feel bad saying that because he rips on people all the time, so he better take it too when he fumbles. He calls out Biden, and so does everyone else myself included.

Don't be a panzy. It's not a big deal, everyone will forget about this in a week.

Do you see the irony in calling for a war against those who have a different political approach, the enemy, and then calling for a coming together to work on the problems we all face.

Stand by mudpit...

If you take what he says seriously, that’s on you.

I believe (and hope to God) Trump just had a brain fart and went on a weird riff. I mean, it would be surprising anyone who though that was a serious consideration could make it well into adulthood.

But it's hilarious and I'm going to rip on him for it, and the people who are butt hurt it happened. We can make fun of any politician until it's someones guy and they get all offended and make a list of excuses.

I get it.

I felt the same way when people kept ripping into Bush for saying nuke-you-ler instead of nuke-lee-er among all the other verbal gaffes he made.

At the time, I was working with kids who made such common malapropisms all the time because they had phonetic weaknesses. It had nothing to do with their overall intelligence, but it did make it harder for them to speak correctly, and they fell into speech patterns like the president's.

It's been speculated that GW struggles with dyslexia although he denies it, but Bush Sr. reported in an meeting with Lex Freiden that one of the Bush boys did have dyslexia.

He ... said that they could both relate to it because of the child with a disability whom they had lost and because one of their children at the time was coping with disability issues. One of the Bush boys had a disability — pardon me because I can’t recall which one — but he had learning difficulties and they were concerned about that. He had difficulty reading, and I think later I learned that he had dyslexia.

At any rate, many of the speech problems BW exhibited are in common with kids who have phonetic weaknesses common to dyslexia, and dyslexia does tend to run in families.

I basically felt like people were kicking those who had learning disabilities and cannot help it and dragging them through the mud as idiots when most of them are anything but. And since I'm now the parent of a child with dysgraphia who's also hard of hearing, my feelings on this one haven't changed at all.

I don't like listening to him at all. I do like almost everything he's done since entering the Whitehouse. That's part of your problem, you listen to what he's saying and how the media interprets it, then take that as gospel and ignore all the great things he's done.

I get it.

If a pack of hyenas was elected on the Republican ticket you’d be here arguing for them.

His policies are abhorrent, have led to people dying, he’s crashed the economy and bailed out more corporations than any of his predecessors. He’s the water in the swamp. And all who look past that because of some type of warped loyalty to a political party are the ones responsible for this type of person existing.

What Trump was trying to talk about and said it horribly badly is a procedure that has been around for decades and shows promise with killing things in your bloodstream that shouldn't be there.

My wife had 50-60 of the procedures when she was battling cancer (she's been in "spontaneous remission" for about 5 years now).

They take a NEEDLE, pull out a pint of your blood, run it under a UV lamp (the person treating her called it DISINFECTING her blood), then the DISINFECTED blood is INJECTED back into you.

So yea, he screwed the pooch on attempting to describe the process.

NOW.

Did you see how the media ran with that, how the left is now portraying that EVERYWHERE and how they mock and ridicule anyone who even THINK of trying to frame what happened any other way than "TRUMP WANTS PEOPLE TO INJECT AJAX!!!"

And you want us to attempt to be reasonable to people like this?

Why, exactly?

They are COUNTING on you being polite and civilized.

Because they most certainly are NOT and will use every opportunity to bury you because of it.

Just... no.

What these people need is to be mocked at every point, every turn.

They need their arguments not only destroyed, they need to feel some pain at the same time.

They need ridiculed.

It's all they understand, after all.

You cannot win a war if you are not willing to even enter the battlefield. You also need to be using the same Rules Of Engagement if you hope to win.

Personally, I can give the president a break on this one. Undoubtedly he's been non-stop briefing with tons of specialists and experts of every field and then has to go on TV daily and try to explain everything that's being discussed. On top of that, there are press people harassing him with off topic questions and scrutinizing his every word.

So he misinterpreted a couple of technical medical approaches in layman's term's and his advisors, right on stage there, corrected him. Big deal.

I should add that it is apparent there are idiotic people who would try something stupid based on a mis-statement made by the president, so he should try to keep that in mind when he's at that podium. He should always state disclaimers with these type of statements.

I addressed this in my reply to the ongoing thread.

Everytime one of you people point the finger at Trump in response to being called out for disgusting behavior, all you're doing is telling us you are on a mission to try to outdo Trump in All the areas you complain about. You don't see how that is counter productive? Okay then, suit yourself... See you on Nov 9th 2020.💁‍♂️

It's almost like, you people don't actually want to win. You LIKE having some big bad wolf to complain about. If Trump was gone, you'd have to devise a new boogeyman to transfer responsibility for your own personal failings to.

But honestly, you saying "what Trump said was dumb af" isn't really what I'm against. Well, I'm technically against it, but... I know you'll say that about everything Trump says. It's the dishonesty of saying that Trump wasnt merely asking a question. It's the decietfulness behind the idea the Trump suggested people go out and self medicate without a doctor's advice. It's the sheer amount of hysteria over asking a question.

When I think about everything my girlfriend went through and all the progress she made, this attitude that asking a question can be stupid, or "dumb af" kind of irritates me. I always thought this was a place that respected the pursuit of knowledge. "The only 'dumb af' question is the one you don't ask." I have always believed this since the day I heard its undeniable truth ringing in my ears. It's a sad day, for me personally, when people I considered brothers and sisters, have forgotten this sacred wisdom...

"Dont be a pansy" Hilarious. I'll remember that very sensible and logical advice next time you complain about Trump.

Win what? You think I'd vote for Biden? lol, I'd vote for Trump before Biden, but that chance was gone with recklessly spending trillion dollars that just evaporated and solved nothing.

To the rest of your points... I rip on everyone, the left included. Why make the new rules now? Because Trump made an insignificant oopsies?

Forgive me for seeing this "what are we telling kids" faux outrage as silly. Because Trump has called people stupid and idiots before, so he and his supporters should be able to take it when he slips up and it's hilarious.

It only makes it worse people can't handle a little bit of deprecation. He's a human who makes mistakes, this one was funny. It's OK.

The fight is between Good and Evil.

I believe we need a strong, stable Left AND Right wing to fly this freedom bird.

While I'm happy to see evil defeated, it saddens me deeply to see the state of the Democrat Party today... how many of their goals have they abandoned? I would love to see them doing better and accomplishing more for our country.

There are plenty of decent level headed folks on the Left. I may even switch BACK over just to help them get their SH in order.

My war is not against "those who have a different political approach". Nice try.

My war is with those who would lie and say Trump "is telling people to drink Lysol". That's not just "having a different political approach". That's Evil.

My war is with those who claim to stand up for what's right, be against bullying, respect the pursuit of knowledge, and then toss all that out the window when they have a political point to score.

I like Democrats who tell the truth, like Tulsi Gabbard and Karen Whitsett. The way they have been treated by their own party is horrendous. All because they refused to join in the 2Minutes of Hate. Sickening.

Yeah no, sorry, you're not supposed to blatantly lie about things. Someone could very well become butthurt if you do that. Did you just forget basic manners? I mean, that's not even manners.... that's just, being a normal person. You're literally insane if you go around lying and then act all persecuted when you get called out on it. LoL.
