If in a month or two you come across a hard hair ball or puke stain behind a chair or on to of the fridge... you will know where Maggy hid this day.

I spent over two hours looking for my cat the other day. Hunted high and low in the house and went out with a torch to check the neighbourhood.

He is 19 years old and has had seven operations on his eye so has fading vision. Still a kitten at heart.

As his humble servant, I was obviously worried and came home with a heavy heart.

I finally had the courage to go to bed alone as I was really tired.

He "meowed" at me from my sock box on the bedroom floor. Black and white socks and a black and white cat.

Sometimes I think cats can completely ignore us even when we call for them, especially when they meditate but as ever....everything always unfolds puuuurfectly.

Like others have said, they will hide in the most unusual of places. In places you would never think to look.

I lost my chocolate Persian for almost 24 hours, and I was terrified because my backyard is the hundred acre woods. I found her the next day curled up in my chiminea. She was very annoyed when I removed her.

I have heard that they will seek out some hard to find place to make a nest for their kittens, so..........

Perhaps Maggie need hypnotic regression so she can tell you all about it.

We have a black cat about 6 to 7 months old too, and he can hide like nobody's business. You'd swear you'd looked everywhere, and he just turns up out of the blue. He's a black cat. Dark hidey holes are his cup of tea.

Usually, I'd say I'll have some of whatever the OP is smoking, but in this series of cat fetish threads... I think I'll pass.

Not to diminish ATS's infatuation with UFO's (anything is better than the right vs left forever droning on.) When pets or any animal for that matter acts odd are seems out of place their behaviors in history have foretold major events. I would like to know has your anxiety level peaked before the cat disappeared? Perhaps it can since the environment and chooses to ponder on it away from the odd feeling?

At any rate, no pets here and I think cats are strange bedfellows to the underworld.

Na, cats are the best. You just have to accept that they own you, you dont own them.

Right, it was all building up to that punchline, one thread at a time.

I wonder if Maggy's brood will be alien hybrid kitties

No, I think Maggy is keeping a safe distance from you because of your anxiety.

Here is a question for all you not so much cat experts..
Ever known a cat to be a nail biter?
I have had lots of cats, and I never trimmed any of their nails. But this is the first one that will lay next to me and for about 15 minutes I am hearing this crunch, crunch, crunch as she nibbles on her nails...
It drives me nuts...

Never known a cat to do that
how old is he/her
maybe its teething
maybe theyve got a infection, i dont know
but that is odd behaviour

one of my sisters kittens insists on suckling on my ear lobe for hours on end...
as they say cats are extremely unpredictable

She is about a year and a half now.

I dont think it's an infection cause she is doing it on all of her feet.
My first guess is maybe she needs her nails trimmed.
My second, we really dont have one.

You really dont have a what?
and cats are best having them trimmed when they are young at first to get used to it
1 and a half years old is pretty much fully grown or 95 per cent fully grown, and theyll probably react agressively to you randomly hacking away at the nails

you definatly need to cut them though, very gently just the tips
maybe wrap the cat in a blanket gently, and do each nail

but i warn you if its the first time and theyre 1 and a half yr old it wont be easy
