I don't think many are "blindly believing" the figures. Some of us have seen 1st hand the bodies, some of us know crematoria operators that are snowed under like never before and I could go on ad nauseum but you have your belief & opinion and I have mine. If you really think and believe that every country in the world is lying about the death tolls that's your perogative but its easy enough to verify such figures so seems pretty pointless

1. CDC has dictated that people who die of something else, whether it be cancer, heart attack, or whatever, if they test positive for Corona, their reason for death is to be listed as corona, not what they actually died from. So they are testing corpses for the virus and INFLATING THE NUMBERS

No they are not. They are following the exact same protocols as everywhere else with a Part I certificate which also contains a Part II.
From your own CDC Website re Part I

This section on the death certificate is for reporting the sequence of conditions that led directly to death. The immediate cause of death, which is the disease or condition that directly preceded death and is not necessarily the underlying cause of death (UCOD), should be reported on line a. The conditions that led to the immediate cause of death should be reported in a logical sequence in terms of time and etiology below it. The UCOD, which is “(a) the disease or injury which initiated the train of morbid events leading directly to death or (b) the circumstances of the accident or violence which produced the fatal injury” (7), should be reported on the lowest line used in Part I.

and for part II they should put in contributing factors such as covid-19, so if someone with cancer actually dies of pneumonia as a result of contracting covid-19, Pneumonia would go in Part I with covid-19 in Part I but underneath and in Part II would go the cancer as it wasn't actually the cancer that killed the person, it was a pre existing contributory factor.

Other significant conditions that contributed to the death, but are not a part of the sequence in Part I, should be reported in Part II. Not all conditions present at the time of death have to be reported—only those conditions that actually contributed to death

Everything that the patient suffered from that contributed to morbidity goes in sequential order on the certificates

I think many people agree including various experts, that the current testing is quite possibly pointless. There have been numerous cases highlighted where people have had multiple tests all of which showed a different outcome. There is no surefire way yet to test for the virus accurately

Some hospitals here in the Uk have also had very few patients but others have been swamped. It all depends on the area and population, but the attitude has been one of readiness and just in case of the worst scenario, which is why here in the UK there are currently 4 huge field hospitals set up, but so far only a handful of patients. It should also be noted that having these field hospitals ready and equipped means that patients can be moved to or go direct to these hospitals and free up the other Hospitals for other surgeries and treatments, which of course will have to be fully cleaned & sterilised.

Would you rather there be no beds available when you or your parents become ill? Sit around and wait for an icu to become free or would you rather know that the facilities are there if necessary.

Georgia reopens restaurants, theaters and elective surgeries, do you really think they would do that if hospital beds, ICU beds were an issue. Not saying it works for every locality but with 733 deaths and 18,000 cases with a population of 11 million time is probably right.

There are now 18,947 confirmed cases of coronavirus with 733 deaths in Georgia, according to new data released Monday at 12 p.m. At least 3,489 cases have required hospitalization. This is all according to data from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
Gov. Brian Kemp held a news conference Monday afternoon where he addressed plans to reopen the state.
Kemp said gyms, bowling alleys, hair salons, barber shops, nail salons and other similar businesses can reopen statewide on Friday.
The governor said he is allowing elective surgeries to take place again.
Some restaurants, theaters will be able to reopen with strict social distancing guidelines.
Kemp said he will let the statewide shelter-in-place order expire on April 30. The elderly and medically fragile patients have to shelter-in-place until May 13.
Houses of worship will be allowed to hold in-person services but within the social distancing guidelines.
Kemp said the Department of Public Health is starting to see a flattening of coronavirus cases and a decline of people being hospitalized for the virus.
Kemp said the state has partnered with the state university system to ramp up more testing. Announced app to help start the screening process if you believe you have coronavirus.
You will be able to see status of your tests within 72 hours.
Kemp said he is deploying 10 new strike teams to help in hot spots across the state.
MARTA is suspending over 60 bus routes starting Monday morning.

Your head of state has repeatedly called CNN fake news. You seem confused as to whom the state sponsored media would be.

Well (according to YOU) it would be hilary Clinton because President Trump only won because of facebook

(Deluded mindset that is)

Hillary didn't win. Being deluded is living as if she did.

And he is correct

More lies and falsehoods come out of cNn than facebook

CNN gets raked over the coals by its opposition if it makes a mistake or gives out false information.

But when you get infected or infect someone you know who then dies...

YOU are a far bigger threat to people than any virus, or anyone carrying the virus. And this emotional blackmail and bullying from your ivory tower is despicable. As YOU sit in your ivory tower, safe and protected, while others are out there doing the heavy lifting. As others put themselves at increasing risk, overworked, overstressed, overtired, and underpaid and under appreciated -- so that YOU can protect YOURSELF and you don't give a rats' patootie about who is hurt in the process. YOU are putting others in harm's way for YOU.

That's on you.

No. It's on Mother Nature.

There are volunteers out there doing shopping and deliveries for the self-isolating. For some of those self-isolating, their ONLY possible contact with the virus will be those deliveries. And sooner or later, despite all precautions, it is inevitable that one of those selfless people will inadvertently pass the virus along. And you want to label them killers and murderers. From your ivory tower. Protected and safe at home thanks to the many people to take the risks and keep this world going.

In fact, it is inevitable that virtually EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US will contract this virus. And it will be gotten somewhere, somehow, no matter how many precautions are taken!!! Including YOU. And, yes, there's a good chance that YOU will also pass it along.

It should be obvious by now this is all a plan to usher in extreme socialism to the United States. I'm wondering how long until websites like ATS are considered "harmful misinformation" and can no longer function.

So you are leaving it to Zuckerberg to decide what is truth and what is false?

How did you come to this conclusion from what was posted?

The O.P of that post essentially said, take no notice of things on Facebook, it’s B.S and essentially Zuckerberg has effectively confirmed this.

Zuckerberg will allow anything on Facebook at the right price, so I am guessing they are saying don’t believe in Facebook because Zuckerberg has confirmed this.

Extreme socialism?

ATS is definitely leaning towards Conservatism, believe me.

Did you miss the point of this thread?

It's about the protesters going out and putting themselves and others in danger so they could protest.

And yeah that's 100% right I'm going to protect myself and my family. And also by staying home I'm protecting those people that are out there working. The less contact you have with others the less of a chance for the virus to spread. That is what everyone should be doing. Limiting contact with people.

I disagree that it's on mother nature. It's on us to take this seriously and take precautions to limit the spread.

That's why I'm staying home and severely limiting my contact with others.

And if you disagree I don't care.

Has not histroy shown that once rights and liberties are taken away it is difficult to get them back?

Just curious here. Can you point out what cultures or nations or societies throughout history have even HAD rights and liberties let alone had them taken away?

Sure, one might say that when one country conquers another they have often placed the conquered people into slavery or such and placed the peasants under their own version of martial law, but the question arises is just what rights and liberties did those people have in the first place?

I am tired of arguing with people. Do what you want.

But when you get infected or infect someone you know who then dies. That's on you.

Those that choose to ignore history are doomed to repeat it. This has happened in the past. During the 1918 Spanish Flu Philadelphia decided to open up the city again. They had a parade that 200K people attended. In the end they had to shut down again. 12K people died because of it. Until there's a vaccine your chances of being infected remain.

theweek.com...

But like I said. Go do what you want.

That's so stupid. Are you EFFING kidding me with your virtue signalling? Why are SO many people feeding into this mainstream narrative BS???

Things are fine. This "virus" is so stupid now. Quit being idiots! My state now requires everyone working to have a mask on. Even tho "non essential" workers are coming back to work in 2 weeks. This is SO stupid. The paranoia is BEYOND insane now.

Imagine in the old days, a protester walking into the town square that was owned by the king and began to foment revolution against the king. What would have happened to that person..... No rights or liberties there.

Imagine in the not so old days here in the US and a protester walked into the town square, paid for by taxes and guided by the Bill of Rights. There, for a while those rights and liberties demanded that he have a right to speak.

But what we have here in the case of Facebook, is maybe not a king but certainly a ''town square'' that owned by a single landlord, Zukerberg. It is his company, it is his platform and he, according to the rights allowed him under the constitution can do whatever he wants with that platform.

I agree with Zuckerberg.

There is no moderation, fact-checking or control over the truthfulness of Facebork posts. None.

Consequently, there is a large volume of outright lies posted on Facebork and it is being used for political propaganda.

The fact that Brexit is going ahead and Trump was elected shows the power of social media to influence public opinion.

Facebork should not be taken seriously and is not a platform for petition because content can be changed without audit and there is no verification of factuality.

LoL Is this a joke post?

What size jackboot do you wear? They are going to need your sizes for your new uniforms , of COURSE you dont like anything that has the freedom to post anything they want and let the people decide for themselves whats truth and whats not

And of COURSE you like a platform that controls the information, you know, for those people too stupid to think for themselves.

Hope you have your salute down

Facebook is a business, a corporation and is interested in making a profit. If you don't like it, don't sign up.

I despise the Waltons...I don't shop in their stores. Problem solved. It's not up to me to tell them how to run their business.

Start your own social media platform and run it the way you want. Or do you just want to take Zukerbergs freedom away to run his business the way he wants?

Random posters on FB are not media pundits and "reporters" tasked (use to be) with bringing the TRUTH and holding others accountable THROUGH that news when they lie

Now the media is IN on it

What a piss poor example, and thoroughly exposes your thought process

PS none of us are surprised
