Rappers delight by Sugar hill gang... besides that “hip hop” or “rap” was started by a Jamaican in the Bronx known as Clive “kool herc” Campbell.... if you are talking about “rap” as in a pioneer to what it is now then RAKIM is the originator 🔥🔥

Me? !! Uh,...

First off, the song in question is Oy, me so hungry. And I seem to be the only person who remembers it that way.

The whole ME thing is remind everyone that we don’t have a certain, absolute, memory on anything. (Sorry my phone doesn’t know Yiddish on correcting my typos).

What I am asking is, what do you remember??

Any internet search is going to tell you one thing. The ME is that there is a whole bunch of people that do not remember the current historical record the way everyone else does.

That doesn’t make us dumb or misremberers just a class of people that you can call stupid (which is stupid in itself).

What does it mean to have two contrary memories at once??

Seems our Universe is more quantum than we know!

Your OP is so weird lol. What is the lawsuit between TLC and MC Pillsbury you mentioned? I never heard of it and found nothing on Google. What are you actually asking about?

Facts. Rakim is the GOAT. Elevated it to the lyrical art form that it is today.

Top 5 dead or alive.

Rakim is #1 and then four other guys fighting for second place as far as I am concerned.

I grew up on hip hop. I'm a 70s/80s baby. I remember hearing Rapper's Delight and Double Dutch Bus as a kid....

but then when I heard Rakim... My Melody. My mind was blown. I couldn't believe word play like that was possible.

Your favorite rapper's rapper.

For the youngin's the song above is where Eminen pays homage with his classic The Way I Am. Rakim: "I'm the R to the A to the K I am.... if I wasn't then I would I say I am?"

I remember the OP's reference, the kosher one, as he/she/it/they are calling it.

I'll counter with a worse one.

I am so old I can remember when Red was the color of the Democrat Party and Blue was the Color of the Republican Party.

I remember when they (the media syndicate) changed that, in the year 2000. If you google old election map images, note what year the picture you're looking at was created. More than likely it was created after 2002 and then "back dated" to represent jimmy Carter or Michael Dukakis.

In 1988, Dukakis' team complained that he was accused of being soft on communism, and a lot of people wound up not voting for him because the Democrats were seen as "reds" in the Cold War. He said it didn't help that the team color was ... socialist red. Of course it didn't help that he was a "card-carrying member of the ACLU"

The media changed that, over republican objections, in 2000. Gore was seen as commie symp who was using "global warming" as a tool for de-constructing capitalism in America. The networks made the republicans be red. W Bush fought it for a while, which is why you find pictures of him in the spring of 2000 wearing a blue necktie... the press hounded him for it until he finally started wearing red ties....

To obfuscate the democrats' ..."red ties."

First off, the song in question is Oy, me so hungry. And I seem to be the only person who remembers it that way.

Because you’re remembering it wrong.

Any internet search is going to tell you one thing. The ME is that there is a whole bunch of people that do not remember the current historical record the way everyone else does.

That doesn’t make us dumb or misremberers just a class of people that you can call stupid (which is stupid in itself).

People who forget/misremember are not dumb or stupid by any means. Everyone does this. It’s when people, who cannot accept this, perpetuate bollocks nonsense like ‘ME’ as the explanation.

What does it mean to have two contrary memories at once??

Well, there’s plenty of articles from scientific studies looking at exactly this; why do people have differing memories of the same event. For example, www.newscientist.com...

There’s lots of others out there. And it isn’t supernatural or ‘quantum’ based. It’s how the human brain works - or, depending on your view, *doesn’t* work.

Seems our Universe is more quantum than we know!

I’m sure it is, but when it comes to memories and people arguing that ‘Luke, I am your Father’ is what Vader said (he didn’t), that isn’t a manifestation of a multiverse or quantum entanglement. It’s just people...being...wrong
. And also not apparently addressing the fact that almost, if not all, of the ME examples they give are always pop culture references.

Funny no one has ME memories of Germany winning WW2, or 9/11 not happening, or the 2006 Tsunami not happening. It’s always memories heavily influence by modern media and pop culture... wonder why

Or somewhere, there's another reality,
where both versions exist,
written by Orignal creators,
and then the stein version, written by the children,
to cash in on the mandela effect...

Okay so your initial reply to my debunking the ME you were trying to establish is that your post wasn't about ME's even though you opened the thread talking about ME's.

Then basically this post tries to explain your belief in what an ME is "The ME is that there is a whole bunch of people that do not remember the current historical record the way everyone else does." making it seem even more likely this whole thread , from your perspective, is about ME's.

Your statement of "There is no song called “Oy, me so hungry”" falls apart when you realize that in remembering the name of the source song wrong you essentially created confirmation bias because if your source is wrong then the parody you remember could never exist.

However when you use the correct name of the song the parody is there.

It's okay to own a mistake.
Sometimes people process data wrong, sometimes people remember things wrong, sometimes people are just wrong.

It happens to me, it happens to everyone, just like it happened to you with how you remembered the name of your source song wrong which invalidates the ME you were trying to imply but is totally not a ME but really is. =)
