Nothing to do with POTUS in these cases. If anything, it's on Congress' shoulders as they're the only oversight the Fed has to deal with. They wanted to do this in 2008 but Congress had enough men like Ron Paul who were squealing about it like a pig stuck under a gate... now? Not so much.

How about:
We need to come together - in isolation!
The pieces are all there, somebody with a brain do something with it if you want.

Watching the ebb and flow of discussion on social media and amongst friends and neighbors, I think that another line needs to be added to George Orwell's Party slogan. The idea has always been there, but now it serves us well to make it official:

War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
Fear is Safety.

Long live the party.

Hey incoserv: Certainly, having read many books, including 1984, and Watership Down, one has to truly begin to question the supposed reality of our existence and time as it's explained to us. So much seems to have happened already, and yet, the history we are fed does not reflect that. Only the works of "fiction" do.....

I hate the food for thought cliche.....but, yet, there it is.

Funnily enough, '1984' and 'Brave New World' were both required reading in my Public School Freshman Honors English class ('89-'90.) I wonder if those two tomes are even allowed nowadays...

Same here mate but doubt it nowadays.

we'll actually have that corporatocracy some erroneously fear-mongered we had the past couple of decades.

Maybe they were just ahead of the curve?

Now my tinfoil hat is glowing.
Kind of a coincidence that this happens once we put a millionaire business mogul in the drivers seat.
Maybe that's why he isn't doing it himself? It's being done in a back room deal. corporatocracy would greatly benefit people like trump.

Absolutely it would, it's clearly the goal here, it's weird though that people cheer this on, perhaps they stand to benefit from it.

What's trump doing to try and stop it or at least tell the american people about it and that he doesn't like it?

Does he have any power in this case?

We need to switch our congress up.
Everyone should agree to not vote for anyone that has been there for more than 10 years.
Send a message.

This is exactly what's happening.

If I don't wear a mask and cower in the back corner of my locked-down house, someone will see me as the enemy and will have to hate me, because I am putting them and their family at risk ... even though they and their family are wearing masks and cowering in the back corner of their locked-down house.

They are doing an excellent job of separating us from one another. The two minutes of hate has been transformed, thanks to social media and the propaganda outlets, into a day-long hatefest.

Yup. Every week can now be hate week.

By now, most people understand that communication by any electronic means could potentially be monitored and public information is controlled.

The only real private way to talk is in person. So the obstacle is now self imposed. Now people are in fear of others and glued to their TV for misinformation and MK -tainment.

And slowly we learned to love Big Brother.

Except it wouldnt. Or rather it wouldn't unless he can find a way to never loose the presidency. Only then could it possibly benefit him. Otherwise he would be selling/giving a controlling interest in his own companies to the government... no business man I know would consider that a good deal.

Your right. I hadn't considered that.

I guess we need to watch what trump does about the november elections then.

if he enacts the powers invested in him during times of war... well theoretically he could stay in indefinitely, or at least until the "conflict" is resolved. But first he would have to declare a state of war, and I'm not sure one can declare war on virus...?
