That was my thought,, not unlike the movie armageddon. UFO or military aircraft? The likely hood is more a military aircraft shooting a missile into the meteor to break it up.

after seeing the video it looks like a reg. metor breakup. i agree with _Anubis_ on the video glitchs it doesn't look like that light is doing anything

Did any of you go frame by frame on the slow demonstration? You can clearly see that its a glitch.

Yeah, the "beam" IS probably a glitch, but who knows?

I'm not usually one to inject logic into a situation, whatever a situation is, but it could have been a SAM (surface to air missile) that was launched.
